Dark souls 3 if it was actually good: but unironically, this game is fucking amazing. Weird little indie topdown souls like, very fast and very tight gameplay, almost nothing is pure bullshit if anything because you learn how to dodge it pretty easily even though it seems pretty hard at first. the music and models are mostly stock but the VFX are honestly pretty good, and the gameplay is woven together well. One of the most fun and mechanically well tuned final bosses ive ever seen, like i could literally compare the fight to minos prime. TLDR play this game

Weird RPG is a top-down Souls-like RPG game. To start things off, the actual mechanics of the games are really nice. There's some unique mechanics, quite a bit of skills to use (you can change the skills on each weapons) and the gameplay is really fluid (some areas are a little laggy, but it's not terrible.) The rolling mechanic is cool and it plays a bit like Elden Ring. The game is indeed quite difficult, especially on Challenger difficulty and more so if you're trying to complete the game with 100% achievements. Also the game is a solid 5-10 hours long depending on your level of completion, if you want to go for 100% achievements, loot all chests and read all the dialogues, you can expect around 10 hours from it. The graphics are alright, knowing they're assets kind of makes it a little less interesting in my book, but they're not ugly to look at. In fact the art style is quite nice! The music is good, it's quite a shame that the best piece of equipment in the game overwrites the music with uhhh... I'll let you discover that on your own. The combat sounds are satisfying enough. The game started strong but dragged on a bit too long for it's depth. The idea is great: most weapons and items are fun to use and they have special effects, but there's not enough variety! Some items have effects based on your graphics card and some items react to sounds, and while I thought those mechanics were super innovative and there would be a large amount of them (hinted by: 'WEIRD' RPG), well there's really not that many! Some passives based on which day it is and some based on your frame rate... and that's sadly about it. On a final note, it felt as if this game built on something all along to end on a very... lackluster ending. The story is absolutely terrible for such a huge game, it is poorly translated for sure, but it does lack an actual story too. The final boss is just a random guy, there's no cutscenes and you get nothing for completing the game. To add insult to injury when you finish the extra content, there is also nothing for doing so and furthermore, when you grind for an hour to get the last item required for 100% achievements, that too seems to do nothing! Overall, an amazing concept, a mechanically fun game, but lackluster in almost all departments. Not enough depth, not enough story and definitely not enough 'Weird' items. Fun to play, but it could have been a lot better!

It leans a little heavily into "loud is funny" and the microphone integration forces my bluetooth headphones into handsfree mode, but other than those 2 complaints I've loved the action and interesting areas and bosses. I definitely got my $11 worth from this one
