Before I get started, I know it says I have only an hour and a half of time in this game upon review. I usually start this game using the EXE directly in GOG Galaxy, so I've got around 18 hours into it or more at this point, and have beaten the game. I have played it quite a bit longer than the official Steam stat says. Ok, onto the review. 77p Egg: Eggwife is the absolute stupidest game imaginable. The entire game is filled with endless poop and pee jokes, and sex jokes, and the entire experience is nonstop nonsense from start to finish. It is also insanely fun, and a great boomer shooter, provided you're onboard with the nonstop shenanigans. Weapons and movement feel great, and it all works. It works so well when you're in the midst of a huge fight. Combat feels fantastic and enemies all have great ways to telegraph attacks. They also all have different looks to them so you can always understand what you're up against in a fight. Most of the time. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic. I just can't recommend this game to anyone because of how completely stupid and weird it is, but I still think if you can enjoy the goofy humor then the gameplay can absolutely shine through the goofiness. I kind of want everyone to know about Eggwife because of how fun it is, but the second you start explaining it to someone you sound even more insane than when you're trying to explain why Postal 2 is a great game to someone. Yes you can poop and pee on command, and make other characters throw up by peeing or barfing on them. Yes you can smoke weed AND drink boomer juice as power ups. Yes there's a dildo crossbow that shoots footlong animal dildos. Yes the shotgun is called a shitgun and shoots out your own poop. Yes there's a pressurized pee gun. Yes you can go pick up your poop you used during the last fight and shove it back inside your butt. Yes you can take other characters' poop and stick it in your own butt to use for ammo for your shotgun. Yes every piece of food you eat adds to your poop meter. Yes every time you do a double jump your character lets out a little poop to get height off that second jump. Yes your character is a stick figure man wearing a furry tail, and yes his wife got killed through sex shenanigans and your objective is to go find a new Eggwife. It's juvenile. We know. I however....do not care. It is stupid, and the teenager in me would've found this crap hilarious back in the day. I still find this crap hilarious. My only genuine complaint about this game is performance. Performance can go all over the place sometimes depending on where you are and what you're doing. If you can get onboard with the humor, and you love boomer shooters, you might REALLY love this one. I do. I love this stupid nonsense so frickin much. Buy it.

Crude humor, meme energy, and very British jabs. This game goes all in on being raw, weird, and unapologetically janky. People who rate it badly for that honestly don’t get what it’s going for. This is a joke game, a meme game, but it’s so sharp with its humor. If you’re not from the UK, half the references will fly over your head, but if you are, it hits dead-on. It’s one of the funniest games I’ve played in a while, and it’s dripping with personality. At its core, this is a boomer shooter, fast movement, wild weapons, Postal 2 vibes, and ridiculous over-the-top mechanics. The level design is actually genius: big, goofy spaces that are still intuitive and fun to explore. There’s a surprising amount of interactivity and open-endedness, making it way longer than I expected (especially for the price). The jank is intentional, part of the aesthetic, it uses brokenness to build atmosphere. Performance isn’t perfect, frames will tank when things get crazy, but it never breaks the fun. Instead, it almost adds to the chaos. The game feels cheap in price but rich in weirdness and passion. This is clearly a mad, passionate project: rough around the edges in exactly the right ways. It’s crude, funny, chaotic, and way more substantial than you’d think. Definitely one of the more unique FPS oddities out there. It’s unfinished (part 2 is coming, likely as a separate game), but there’s already plenty of content here for the price. It isn't for everyone, but if you get it, its gold.

I love the game, however with all due respect to the developers and other players, it's a very... acquired taste type of game. Its humor consists primarily of poop jokes, fart jokes, sex jokes, and being a blatantly unfinished game. It's a fun experience, but a shallow one, and if you're looking for something like Postal 2, this isn't it. It's a fun enough boomer shooter.
