This game is a improvement compared to the first episode. it did drag a bit at the end but the ending is very nice. im happy this game i centered around sora too, she is probably the best writen character in the vn so far and i wish all the games were centered around her 7/10
This may be the most solid entry in the series considering the story of this episode as its own thing. In terms of plot, it's where the overarching story really gets going. While not all mysteries are resolved in this game, the conclusion for this part feels very satisfying, it feels like you've resolved things as far as the individual story for this part goes. The charcater that this game focuses on also has the best arc out of the four I would say. I was very interested in the direction it went in. It's very solid all the way through, both the plot and the characters are great here. If you were doubtful after the first game, this one is a big step up. The first game is more of an introduction while this one is where everything really gets started. And it's impressively good as a stand-alone story even within the bigger story it starts setting up.
9-Nine has been such a treat to read and episode two did its job in keeping up the quality that episode one left off with. The music in particular was really well done and Soranokioku (op) has taken its spot as my current favourite song. I hope others enjoy this game and join the paper bag club!
The second episode of the 9-nine- series is one where I have mixed feelings about, and may be the hardest to talk about. In terms of pacing, it's easily the slowest. Despite taking about 14 hours, not much actually happens, and things kinda just drag out. In terms of the mystery, you hardly learn anything new- that'll have to wait until the next episode. But there's one thing this episode does well, and that's building tension. Despite the next two episodes technically having higher stakes, it often doesn't feel that way. A lot of those moments can feel forced, fake, and/or anti-climactic. In terms of building up a "this situation feels hopeless, how are we going to get out of this mess" feeling, the second episode feels the most genuine. As a result, it has some of the most memorable moments in the entire series.
The story won’t blow your mind, but it has its moments. The OST is great—the ED is my personal favorite, though the OP is really good too. Sora and Kakeru have an amusing, natural chemistry, and the voice acting makes it even better. Trust me, Sora is best girl. You’ll become a paper bag enjoyer too.
