What can I say.... If you buy this expecting there to be some kind of actual playable game, then you've made a mistake. If you bought it knowing it was nothing more than an achievement grab and grind as II did, then you bought the right game. It's 79p UK money at the time of me writing this. So... Easy achievements for very little cost. Based on other reviews, don't close the game window, just let it run it's course. Restarting the game means literally that, restarting from scratch. I'm at around 1000 achievements at this point and that's taken just short of an hour to get to 20% of the way through the game. So for the next 5 hours, I just leave it doing it's thing. Would I recommend? Only if you are an achievement hunter. For anyone else, There is literally nothing to do or look at in the game, just a slow but constant pop up telling which achievement number you got, so for normal gamers, i'd say nope, absolutely not, don't do it, save the 79p for something else.

Achievement Idler Black is another entry in the Achievement Idler series, and it sticks very closely to the same formula. You let the game run, earn points over time, buy upgrades, and unlock achievements as you progress. It is easy to get into, and you do not need to spend much time learning how anything works. The game is fine if you just want something to leave open in the background while you do other things. Watching your progress slowly build up and unlocking more achievements can be satisfying at first. The upgrades also help keep things moving, so you are not completely stuck waiting all the time. The problem is that there is very little depth. The gameplay never really changes, and after a short while it becomes the same cycle of waiting, buying upgrades, and repeating the process. There are no interesting mechanics or decisions that make later parts of the game feel different from the beginning. Like the other games in the series, it feels like it was made mainly for achievement hunters. If your goal is to increase your Steam achievement count, it does that job well enough. If you are looking for an idle game with meaningful progression or something that keeps introducing new ideas, you will probably be disappointed. The visuals are also very simple. They are clean enough, but there is nothing that really stands out. Everything is built around keeping the game running rather than creating an interesting experience. Overall, Achievement Idler Black is not a bad game, but it is a very basic one. It delivers exactly what it promises, but there is not much reason to keep playing once the novelty wears off. Players who enjoy achievement farming may get some value from it, but most people will likely move on fairly quickly. Rating: 5/10
