Great game, great setting, graphics and progression. Lack luster battle system that doesnt quite mesh with the rest of the game. Some annoying design decisions that prevents you from getting it all. Most serious con is that it is ubisoft and you have to use ubisoft connect. It sucks and so does ubisoft. but ubisoft sucks,

Really not sure how this game got a Mixed review score, because while I'm no hardcore Anno player, I must say I prefer this one over all of its predecessors. It takes a more relaxed tone compared to previous titles, and is decidedly less apocalyptic than you expect from futuristic settings. I found both of these things refreshing. Combat is mostly relegated to areas away from your cities and comes across as entirely optional, which is good since it's the least compelling part of the game. The resource management and interplay between Earth and the Moon is the core of the experience, and this is where it excels. It goes for a more macro, big-picture approach than its predecessors, and takes all of the guesswork out of how much of each resource you'll need to produce goods or satisfy your people's needs. This means at all times you're getting a clearer picture of how your settlements are doing, where the problems are, and how to improve them. It's a more chill experience than I expect from Anno. I'm sure this is what made it disappointing to some, but it made it all the more enjoyable to me.

Amazing game....how this game has a mixed review average makes no sense to me. Yes...it's a bit different than the other Anno games...but don't we want developers trying out new ideas. Sometimes my fellow PC gamers really make me want to scream.....when developers put out the same game with a re-skin you complain...and then when they try something a new and different you complain. Edit: This is by far my favorite Anno Game!!!!!

This was my first Anno game. I didn't write a review when I first played through because I didn't have the perspective of the other entries. And after reading the reviews, it seems like a big deal. Here's the plain and simple. Anno 1800 was a better game up until you get near the end game, then it becomes your life. The level at which you have to min/max is incredibly, incredibly in-depth...and for a min/maxer like myself, that seemed liked a good thing. But it wasn't for me; however, I can see how people who truly love supply chain games, it is probably the pinnacle at this time. Anno 2205 is more my alley these days. I play games mostly after work for an hour or two to decompress, so Anno 1800 after a certain point became work to me. Whereas Anno 2205 tops out before becoming your life but still has enough to do to get way more than your money's worth. So, if you like games that allow you to imbibe your preferred destressers and kick back after a long day of work, Anno 2205 is perfect. If you are someone who wants a supply chain game that truly tests your skills and mettle, Anno 1800 (and probably the other Annos) are more your style.
