I just added this to my Steam Library but I've owned and played it since it came out in 2010. This is my favorite version of HOI2 and of Hearts of Iron total. I like it better than HOI4. It's worth your time and money. Snag it on sale and it's dirt cheap.

The game focuses on managing your nation’s military, economy, and diplomacy during WWII. It has a detailed map, a wide range of units, and a complex production system. For fans of Hearts of Iron II, it provides more depth and some quality-of-life improvements. However, the interface and AI still show their age, and the learning curve can be steep for newcomers. It’s a solid choice for strategy enthusiasts looking for a deep WWII experience, but it may feel overwhelming or outdated to casual players. Final score: 6/10 A decent, detailed WWII strategy game with some rough edges.

Great game!! IMO its more in depth than Hearts of Iron 4. It's definitely more click intensive but man im having fun with. Highly recommend if you're interested in trying some older HOI games. I think this and HOI 4 are the best ones to own.
