The best Cultivation themed game I have played. The level of attention to detail and responsiveness by the dev is incredible, both in terms of responding to bugs and taking on new suggested content. The game also receives chunky patches every week or two that adds new content. Even now in EA a single playthrough has more content than most other games at full release. We are talking dozens of quests, loads of NPCs, areas to explore, unique items to find and upgrade. Hundreds of techniques to learn and use, crafting could be an entirely separate game with how much complexity it provides. If any of that sounds appealing then you should grab the game, I guarantee you will get your moneys worth.

This is the first review that I’ve ever written for game, but I wanted to show my support to the developer. Story: B?. Not too interesting, but translated well, and is overall passable (not an instant skip but nothing to rave over). There is world building and history sprinkled throughout which I appreciate. Character Builds: S Tier, Really really good. It feels almost like old school Ninja Saga but the autobattler version of it. Skills never become obsolete, every skill is useful, and you aren’t limited by build type either, allowing a ton of freedom with customization. Crafting System: SS Tier. Probably the best system I’ve ever used. Crafting feels very meaningful and impactful. And the system itself is fun and rewarding. It uses skills that you can collect and customize, and like the main combat skills, all crafting skills are useful, and are never obsolete. Combat: C+. The sound design and visuals could use some work here, its passable but feels lacking. For example fist build is a generic slap sound for every ability, and this sound is repeated for enemy hits to, and a bunch of other abilities. Just makes the clarity of combat washed out. This is a pretty big source of disappointment for me since it makes my painstakingly crafted builds feel lackluster. Gameplay Loop: Centers around breaking through, progressing skills (crafting and combat), and upgrading equipment. There are various systems that the player can use to progress, but for the most part, to me, it feels like doing kill quests and crafting quests make up a large majority of progression. Hasn’t gotten stale yet but I guess I’ll see. Overall I highly recommend, just for the fact that the developer seems to be closely listening and reacting to feedback!

I didn’t expect to learn anything from this game. Not in the tutorial sense. Not in the “here is the lesson” way. Just a few simple lines explaining crafting systems—and suddenly I realized the game wasn’t teaching mechanics. It was teaching how systems actually work. Harmony is not balance. Balance is static. Dead. Harmony is living equilibrium—the dance between opposing forces that creates something greater than either alone. Alchemy isn’t about destruction. It’s guided transformation. Some creation needs fire. Some produces fire. Rules exist to be followed, but the path to follow them can vary. These aren’t slogans. They’re embedded in gameplay. The systems behave the way the words describe. No lectures. No forcing. Just quiet consistency. It reminded me of the first time playing KOTOR II—when mechanics and philosophy aligned, and the game trusted the player to notice. This is rare. Most games explain too much or mean too little. This one respects your intelligence and lets understanding emerge naturally. If you’re the kind of player who enjoys systems, patterns, and meaning that comes from interaction—not exposition—this game is gold. The developers knew exactly what they were doing.

I've played just about every cultivation-inspired game out there that has an English translation, including the fan translations. Almost every game has huge missed opportunities or annoying design decisions that undercut the xianxia fantasy that I'm looking for. But this game does everything right - not perfect, but there I haven't found any huge weak points yet, and the developer has borrowed some of the best features of the rest of the field to produce an incredibly solid set of systems. The highlight in my opinion is the martial style + stance + moves system. The semi-auto-battler design lets me go deep on designing martial arts without making the actual use of the styles so tedious that you start to hate using them. I'm genuinely excited when I unlock a new stance slot and can tweak my combat style. The way it handles multiple enemies is great, and really allows some of the slow-burn build-up strategies to shine, without allowing a mass of enemies to curb-stomp you immediately. I'm very impressed with the thought put into the way the various systems fit together, great job. The one bit I was slightly disappointed in was the alchemy system. It's *good*, but not *amazing* - it's largely solvable with higher stats and better equipment, and the process of building up a system that generally worked was interesting, but once I had my rotations down I was a little disappointed that it wasn't deeper. Then I progressed on a particular alchemy-related quest line, and it *unlocked a new crafting mechanic* that lets you craft beyond-perfect items if you can get 200% progress on both the fusion and refinement bars, along with a new bar you have manage...and four different ways to manage it depending on the type of recipe. Once again, really impressed with the designer.

A turn based Xianxia game highly reminiscent of Tale of Immortal but without the janky translations and with a more coherent story. It's not finished yet, but what exists is already worth the asking price in my opinion.
