It's a good simple tactical management game however I feel like it can be expanded on more. Features such as bigger generated maps, bigger unit deployments (Cap 6-8 instead of 4) and even more enemies (Extreme difficulty) since there'll be more vacant land for ships. This will make the game a lot more tense and enjoyable to those who have already finished the whole game and want to play it again.

Bad North is a nice little strategic/puzzle game, with a charming and very readable grapichal style, a simple yet effective gameplay loop, and a rogue like campaign that does not overstay its welcome. So much so that the game can be completed easily under 10 hours, the perfect title to be played on your Steam Deck while sitting on the sofa in the evening, watching TV. Nonetheless Bad North can also become really frantic, especially in the latest portion of the campaign, at the hardest difficulty setting. Trying to defend an island with just four platoons against hordes of enemies, forces the player to use each and every soldier and power at his/her disposal, at the right moment, and that is a nice challenge indeed! Personally, once I finished the main campaign, I was done with it, as I started to feel a bit bored and not compelled to stay with the game for longer. I have nothing bad to say about it, Bad North is simply a nice filler game between bigger titles, something more than a mobile game but definitely not a blockbuster that will fill your gaming time for days. It is a 7 out of 10 for me and I recommend it for sure because the cost-quality ratio is indeed very good!

One of the unique roguelite games I have put my hands on. Game has nice minimalistic art style that in its own gives relaxing vibe. Gameplay is simple even IGN moderator could play it.

This is a great game! Very simple but very fun. Each decision you make barely feels like a big decision but ends up sending you down a relatively one-way path. That gives this game a subtle challenge that keeps it engaging. I bought this to play on the Steam Deck. Controls are excellent, but this one really uses the juice. If you planned on buying this to soak up an entire long plane ride, make sure you have a battery pack or an outlet (estimated ~4 hrs, as opposed to most other indie "cozy" games I play promising 5-10. haven't tried to tune). Not a big deal, as I need to take breaks from this game sooner than others. I find it to be rather intense despite its cozy aesthetic.
