Zero combat, nothing but relaxing game play. Lots of items to unlock for decorating your house and farm and numerous story and side quests to keep you busy. I really enjoy being able to choose between different companion animals and working to unlock all the recipes for crafting and cooking. Great for my blood pressure!

I wish there was a 3rd option for rating these games- an ambivalent option that would mean you felt "so-so" about the game. I didn't love this game but I can't give it a thumb's down, really. It has great music and a cute world and characters. The houses and animals are well done and the contracts are a great idea. But the economy is messed up. There is no progression in the money you make from farming and crafting. It seems like the profit margin is @20 gold on average for grown things and when you compare that to the 15k I need for my next chicken barn upgrade, you see the problem. You don't get to a good point where you can expand your barns easily because of the cash needed or the mats needed that only spawn in a handful of spots per day. Fishing is annoying as heck, except for at the 2 farms, and the cash values are ridiculously low. Cooking was tedious because the majority of the recipes require you to buy items from stores. The only item that I liked cooking was roasting my chestnuts.

It's a cute little farming game. Enjoyable to play. Some things are annoying like having little micro currencies at different stores. Sell cooked dishes to get "gourmet" coins to buy recipes and ingredients. Sell fish for fish coins for recipes and ingredients. You get the idea. It's also annoying when you're in a menu, it exits outs when you complete an action. So say your at the mill and need to make shreds to make animal feed and then make fertilizer for your tree, you have to open the menu separately each time for every action instead of just staying in the menu until you're done. It's not the best farming game I've played, but it is still fun and I'll continue to play despite the flaws. Edit to add: Completed the main story line around 33 hours. I got it on sale and was worth the price, but wouldn't pay full price for it. The game feels incomplete. There are some flirty interactions with the NPCs, but there's no romance developed in the game. The main storyline ends on a cliffhanger which just feels like it should be a continuation of the quests. Your journal has a spot for people's stories, but never updates even as you progress your friendship. Overall, I'd give it a 6/10. It's fun. I enjoyed it. It has a lot of room for improvement.

Disclaimer: My played time is fully inaccurate as I went AFK often and for long periods of time while in the game. If you are a complex loving, min/maxing, action packed, dislikes repetition in games, move on, this is not the title for you. HOWEVER, if you don't mind simple, cozy games with a bit of repetition and A LOT of cuteness, THIS IS YOUR GAME! I loved it. Gradual introductions to new parts of the game, no pressure or rush to complete objectives, and absolutely adorable characters. There is a main story line and then character story lines. Typical farm sim in that you grow/unlock/expand crops/farm area, raise animals for their products, develop and grow relationships with NPCs (no romance in this game, which I appreciated!), and decorate your farm land and house. I will say the controls and interface can be a bit unintuitive, so make sure you are clicking on all the things to discover. One of the most fantastic aspects I found was the moment I began growing tired of certain aspects (I will not say anything outside of that to avoid spoilers), they have you working to resolve it, very well timed. There is not a large community for this game, so resources are a bit thin. Literal days after I purchased the game, I went back and purchased the DLC and that was entirely worth it. No real money affecting play, simply cute additions that you love to love. I don't know if this is the full game or if there is future content in development, but this game is ABSOLUTELY worth it, regardless if final product or still content coming. A farm simulator where the player, after a long journey, encounters a situation involving their grandfather. Throughout the game, the player takes care of their farm, upgrades it, and gets to know the neighboring villagers, helping them and forming friendships. The game has a consistent storyline, in my opinion, which presents challenges for the player to overcome in order to progress the story. Additionally, on this adventure, the player is accompanied by a pet, with several options for the type of animal. Decoration in this game is somewhat limited since there are specific places to put objects. Despite that, I think it’s a good game to play.
