This game and Ogre Battle 64 are two games that I really "love". Sadly if there are things that might exist that actually match these two, I never found them... Though I will say a number of things do get one part of what I want done really well but my interest is not peaked by the other parts that are different. Nostalgia ....such a loaded word...

It is definitely too expensive for the amount of gameplay it offers, but it's a lot of fun until the mid-game. After that, you start one-shotting every enemy and things become pretty boring. I saw people recommending taking squads that you see on map without personally bringing your own squad, but even then, I don't think it would solve the game's core issues. My biggest pet peeve, however, is that you never know when the next main mission will appear. Is it after 20 battles? Is it tied to conquering a region? The lack of information is frustrating because I want to switch to Monster Mode already. :D Even so, it's still a great game with a lot of different things going for it. It sucks that games like this are becoming rarer every year and we're forced to rely on older titles to get our fix. Make 1 vs. 1000 and squad-based games great again! Even the latest Dynasty Warriors has terrible squad mechanics, and now they're deciding to remaster the third game.

Played when I was a lot younger, finally got it on Steam, it's good it's about the same if not a few changes to when I was younger. But if you are gonna play this word of advice; DO NOT PLAY WITH THE KEYBOARD CONTROLS, THOSE ♥♥♥♥♥ ARE ASS, GET A CONTROLLER. I swear to god, that is my only hang up on this ♥♥♥♥, the controls on mouse which is non-existent, and keyboard which is just all over the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ place. Other than that... Solid 7.5/10

Maybe it's just me but I literally play this game to run over entire armies on horseback for hours on end and never finish the story.
