An improvement from the original adding new mechanics and the build amount is generous where as the first game felt like there was only one way each time.It gets pretty frustrating later on especially. 5/10

This is yet another bridge-building game, very similar to PolyBridge 1, 2, and 3, but the graphics are slightly better looking, and the bridge editor is slightly less versatile, so you wind up needing more mouse clicks to make slight changes to your designs. If you have never appreciated the work that goes into building a bridge, this game will give you some of that. It's still 2-D, in that you don't adjust the width of the bridge at any point - the bridges are always the same width throughout, and so everything can be designed in 2-D and that keeps the game relatively simple to play. Some of the achievements are really non-trivially difficult, and took me at least 10 or more attempts before I found a solution that was still under-budget and didn't send horse and wagons tumbling to their deaths. Changing the grid-resolution sometimes allows shortening pieces to the perfect length to get enough sturdiness from a piece of material to just get enough strength out of the bridge to remain under-budget - it is really quite challenging, at least for me. The game absolutely begs to be integrated into some other city-building scheme, since in those games bridges are always taken for granted. But then again, if you have a well-designed city, you're probably swimming in money and can afford to just make more sturdy bridges on a bigger budget, so maybe that's why this sort of merging of game genres has never taken place. Is it fun? Yes. My favorite part is watching my attempts fail over and over and seeing the horses and riders screaming to their deaths. It could have been a little more funny though - they don't quite scream as dramatically as they could have. Still a lot of fun though. "Hey, do you want to test my bridge?" "Nope!" "Oh really? Well as King, I hereby ORDER you to test my bridge or I'll have your house burned to the ground!" It was really rough for the little guys living in medieval times. UPDATE: I get the feeling some of these puzzles were not adequately play-tested and are much more difficullt than the ones in the Polybridge series.
