I honestly tricked myself into believing the game was called 'To Catch a Falling Star'. There is in fact, no 'to' in the title. Catch a Falling Star is a relaxing score attack game all about, you guessed it, catching falling stars. Stars are continuously falling from the top of the screen, and it's your job, the basket, to maneuver your way into catching them. Failing to do so will result in losing a life, which you have 3 of, but this can be increased to a maximum of 5 during your runs through specific means. Your basket can only hold so many stars, and once full, you'll have to deposit them, on either side of the screen. This is the main way in which you earn score. You can deposit a non-full basket but this will grant you a lot less score. When the basket is full, you have the option to deposit it on the closer side, granting you the normal score, or you can risk it, and deposit it on the far side, granting you double the score. Apart from stars, there are a bunch of other things that fall. The main threat is ice though. Ice, like stars, can also take up space in your basket. However, they provide no score for depositing and also slow you down drastically. You should avoid it at all costs. You can additionally, bump ice on the side of your basket for a tiny bit of score too, so at least itΒ΄s not completely useless. There are also coins which occasionally drop, which you can pick up to later buy things like cosmetics, basket upgrades or powerups. Powerups also drop during the game, which can affect how much ice drops, your movement speed, how fast stars fall, your life count, as well as how much wind there is. Wind is a core mechanic in this game, which can make for some pretty interesting scenarios. Wind can blow in an easterly or westerly direction, from a strength of 1 to 5, or, there can be no wind at all. Wind changes every so often so you'll need to remain vigilant for where the stars may end up going. There's customization too, where you can choose what kind of basket you are. You can be a glass of orange juice, a bowl of noodles or even a jar of cookies. There's also themes, which change the background and music, there aren't as many, but are a nice little touch. Overall, pretty good for its cheap price, can definitely provide a good few hours of fun and relaxation.
