Review from an atheist: this game is great, and you should play it. It quickly grabs your interest, and holds onto until the credits roll. It's a personable story that we see too little of in gaming. Concerning the church sequence: for a game that's a series of pithy minigames, the Church segment was unusually drawn out, and is mechanically tedious. I think it could have gotten across the point in a quarter of the time, without having the player sit through what is, for the irreligious, a rather patronizing song. Even worse, it shows up in Chapter 5, where the difficulty spikes, and you'll often be reloading and may mistakenly sit through this sequence repeatedly. But continue from the Game Over, rather than reloading an earlier save, so that a SKIP button will show up in the corner (the top right iirc) every time you're at the Church sequence. Problem solved. That said, the game is semi-autobiographical, and being honest about the protagonist's faith is something you rarely see in a game, so I think it's a damn interesting addition. It's a good chuckle when she goes to pray, but then pops up a smartphone to "text" Jesus ridiculous requests that obviously can't be granted. While the Church segment feels like it's proselytizing, the rest of the game does not feel that way whatsoever. This game isn't trying to convert you. It's just being a true to the character's needs as the stresses of her life weigh heavy, and indeed, her faith drops off as the story progresses. Don't sweat it. Some people are Christian, and their story are as true as ours. I assure my fellow heathens, this game is a human tale, and is worth experiencing.

The gameplay loop is very fun and addictive. However, there should be an option to dump that lame ass boyfriend.

PSA FROM A NON-RELIGIOUS PERSON , this truly is a great game, it is about someone's real lived experiences. Jenny's religious journey is part of their story and from their perspective. HOWEVER, it is easily seen that it is not the intention of their current beliefs as you continue to play. Low-key Spoiler but: "Church" oriented tasks you may see will have a goal amount of 666 & other cheeky ways they handle this topic I was put off initially when we first dove into this topic and the way it was presented to us. I do think the entire church music video sequence could have been skip-able or shortened, it was a task to sit through, and maybe that is the intended emotional weight for Jenny at the time. The way religion is portrayed in this: She assumes church will benefit her so she can continue the same string of unsustainable habits. Only for it to enable the behavior rather than be an outlet to escape it. Overall this beautifully complex emotional experience is such an amazing game that I hope touches the right people. I have a genuine appreciation of the telling of this story and I think more people need to understand the nuances of this hard truth.

I really liked the game until it started telling me Jesus Christ was the answer and started showing christianity down my throat. As someone who isn't christian I didn't appreciate the game telling me that was the solution when that does not match my own IRL experiences that made me want to play a game about the struggles of weight loss and perfectionism. I understand the game is based on a true story, but it took me way out of it and made it hard for me to connect with the main character. Most of the game was fun, bu while I understand what the game was going for with the ending I was left very unsatisfied and slightly frustrated. Would I recommend the game? Very hard for me to say. I did have fun mostly, but if I recommend it it is with a warning about the heavy-handed message at the end.

This hits too close to home tf it's literally every girl experience growing up. Got quite emotional playing it as well hahahah 9 outta 10 recommended!!!! Lovely art style and game play too ^^ thank you for creating this game. (Not a 10 outta 10 because ngl the Christian propaganda kinda ruined the game and also the ending felt a bit short but still it's a good game overall)
