This is one of the best Napoleonic RTS games ever created. It incorporates both base building and combat on very scenic maps in isometric projection, Infantry are formed into companies and cavalry into squadrons and both may be used in formations to battle the enemy. The battles are fought on maps with roads and with villages that give resources. The villages are strategic targets to capture and hold to add their resource supply to your economy. One of the games best features is that it includes morale and energy levels, if the morale of your soldiers gets too low they run away. Eventually they will return to your barracks and you can re-use them. The uniforms of the soldiers are accurate representations of the actual uniforms and the method of combat with line, column and square formation is also accurate for the period. The economy aspect is minor, the emphasis of this game is the strategy and tactics.

Probably the best Napoleonic era game ever made. Can be a bit buggy as you'd expect for a 20 year old game, but that's about the only down side. Very typical risk-style turn based campaign, with battles at the end of each turn. The battles themselves are where the game shines, with engaging missions, regimental combat, lots of unit variety. 9/10

The best way to learn about line infantry and the Napolenic era is to play this game. It's a good strategy game with campaign mode, map mode, and skirmishes that can keep players playing for long time.
