I love this game. There's so much charm and polish to it. Everything is very well executed. If you're a fan of classic arcade shooters I wouldn't think twice before purchasing this. You'll love it. The design of certain stages reminds me a lot of SQUARE's legendary PSX title, EINHANDER. The only major downside is the cost. It should be more affordable, and this should hold especially true for the DLC. I would like to give props to TAITO's ZUNTATA. They have done a fantastic job with the audio design and soundtrack. They are masters of their craft, takumi, even.
It's arcade action. So if you don't get driven to replay shmups and break high scores then you might not be satisfied with what's offered here. I enjoy it. And for the sale price of $12.50 I'd say it's very much worth it. I need more Darius in my life even if I suck at these games. And it's a great way to get more use out of my ultrawide monitor : ) I also like the DLC offerings here, something I rarely care for due to marketing practices of companies ever since DLC started becoming standard. But here we get some unique ships from other game series to have a try at. Good deal.
