It's hard to believe this a game created by only two people. It looks great, sounds great, and is way more unnerving than many of the horror games I've played. I don't have a fear of the ocean or big empty spaces, but always wanted to feel that panic. This is the only game that made me feel that ocean dread. Eat your heart out Subnautica, you didn't come close even with your building sized leviathans. Don't let the "2" in the title discourage you. It doesn't have anything to do with the first game. The first game is an endless survival against ever respawning sharks, this one has a story and levels in which you complete objectives.

This is my favourite underwater game. Looks stunning. Horror themed. Great weapons. Easy to pick up and play. Just trying to get that final achievement. Deserves a much bigger audience.

Spear gun shark survival while collecting treasure. Graphics are beautiful and game play is smooth. I found myself very immersed in the environment because of how beautiful the game is. Alot of people are hating on it because of ai or something but in my opinion this games better than %90 of games that have come out in the past couple years. Grab it and give it a try before you listen to these weirdos crying about ai. Try the game out its $7 on sale. If you dont like it you can easily refund it. People just love to cry because they need attention. Welcome to the internet.

An extremely immersive underwater combat game, a big step up from the first game in terms of content and scope, albeit the core gameplay is still essentially an arena shooter in a unique setting. Following a very loose story that is more of a reason to go from point A to point B while scavenging for ammo and money to upgrade your gear, all the while you get attacked by an increasingly tough wave of sharks and other nasties. Lots of weapons to acquire and upgrade as well. One downside I came across was that my score multiplier and health packs I had gained would disappear when I continued my last save, so score hunting was pointless. I don't know if this is a bug or if the only way to keep your score is to play in one sitting. The strongest trait this game has is great sound design and location immersion; it feels really oppressive when you're down in the depths weaving in and out of an oil rig being hunted down, overall a worthy pickup just for the setting and immersion.

Just finished the main campaign after five and a half hours. My thoughts: the graphics and sound design are great, as I diver I can confirm this game really nails the underwater feeling better than any other I played. Animations on all the creatures you meet are very well done. It's worth it for these reasons alone. The gameplay is a little bare-boned; you shoot waves of sharks (ok, ocassionally other things) while hunting for treasure chests. That's basically it. All in all I had a good time in DitW2 and would recommend it, if you can get it at a discount.
