wanted to go down memory lane a bit, so i bought this on sale on a whim who coulda thought the actual factual apocalypse would be so adorable i'd only played the original, so it was cool to see all the lil modes and extra stuff added to this version and i'd forgotten how much the Volcano stage's track banged little word of caution if you've got the completionist mind goblin like me: this game can be fairly grindy, cause the hardest stuff is basically impossible if your stats aren't fully maxed, which takes a good amount of eggs 'n' critters, so just know there'll probably be a point where you're gonna have to replay the main mode on the same difficulty just so you can upgrade yourself not the greatest game of all time, but it is a bit of fun those stegosaurs can bite me, tho how you running INTO the Massive Wall of Death and Agony and Suffering without a care in the world and getting in MY way get real
This game is so immensely nostalgic to me - I remember playing it on the Pixel Jam website way back when I was a kiddo and hanging out in the multiplayer lobby to race people. We always used to spend ages just sitting and roleplaying in the little victory room at the end and I still find myself lingering just a little bit longer in those caves to relish those memories. Not too difficult or frustrating, very intuitive little platformer, and still holds up well after all these years. There can be some very minor performance issues when meteors strike or there is a lot of dinosaurs on the screen, though part of that is just my laptop being stinky.
