A well made but short horror game. The puzzles are intuitive and not difficult to figure out. The atmosphere is fantastic. Multiple endings. You'll want to turn the brightness up in-game, because it's very hard to see anything if you don't. 7/10 game.

Don't Knock Twice is a very dark (literally) and mildly entertaining horror experience. It has a great atmosphere and a cool setting. Gave me a bit of Amnesia the Dark Descent vibes in how it looks and plays, but without the monsters. There is no real danger here. The few scares you'd encounter would probably work better in VR. Some were ok but I found most of them quite dull. Graphically, it's very good. Except that it is also extremely dark. So dark, that you can't even see things you (accidentally) drop on the floor next to you. Light from candles is also very weak, so make sure to pump the game's brightness and gamma to bearable levels. Note that the screenshots shown on the store page have the brightness cranked up quite a bit! Sound design is fine. Creepy where it needs to be. User controls are fiddly. Opening doors can be a challenge and trying to keep hold of one of the necessary items is a struggle. Someone had the bright idea to bind left-click to pickup objects (left hand), opening doors (left hand) AND dropping your secondary item/weapon (right hand). I lost count of how many times I swinged away my axe while trying to open a door. (axe is needed to open things, no combat) Final verdict: borderline positive (probably better in VR)

The game was alright. It's basically a haunted house walking simulator with two different endings. There are a few collectibles to get (which i always like in games), the environment looks good and the atmosphere is there. Of course during the second playthrough (if you want to get all achievements) it looses the atmosphere because you know exactly whats going to happen. But i think it is a good game if you enjoy these type of games.
