A game based on the soviet version of Treasure Island (which I recommend watching if you haven't already). Now, first off, you probably shouldn't expect too much from this game. At least as it is now - and as far as I know, that isn't changing - it's 'just' a (mostly) fast-paced action-game running in a kind of Endless Dungeon Mode. Fast-paced fun, as such. Most of the time. No campaign, no alternative modes or suchlike. You just roam different levels, picking up loot and killing mooks & bosses as you go. And unlocking achievements, of which there are quite a few, but you'll probably unlock like 75-80% of them within just a few hours of your first day playing the game. The game's fun enough in its simplicity and if you go into the game expecting nothing more than that, you'll probably enjoy it quite a bit. Not to mention, the game's cheap, so if you have a dollar/euro to spend, it's not a bad idea to spend it on this. That said, the game does have some downsides and/or flaws that should be brought up: - Basically, the menu, the options, etc... Is in russian, which make sit a bit tricky if you don't know russian. Though from what I've seen of clips and whatnot, there should be an option for english somewhere, buut... Didn't find it. Mind you, it's not as if it's complicated to start a new game regardless and there's not a ton of options either. Still, it does complicate things a little bit and can make you miss out on some extra information... - The game's in dire need of a map or minimap, or quite possibly a Boss Compass. It can be all to easy too get lost and forget where on the map you have NOT been - which is not helped by the fact that the game acts as an LSD-experience now and then which will further disorient you (to say nothing of the painting as well as the abundance of smoke, sometimes) - leading you to wander through rooms again and again, like walking in a circle, sometimes, until you finally stumble upon a room where you haven't been. This detracts from the fast-paced fun the game's supposed to be and so I'd say it needs a map, minimap or boss compass... - The characters will now and then apparently automatically use items you've picked up. I wish you could disable this, because more often than not, I'd rather save up items for trading. But apparently you can't disable this... Which should be a thing IMO. Especially considering the items often enough just are wasted this way, like when you enter the so-called boat-bonus room and our characters will be wasting their items on the harmless boats... - A few rooms completely and/or almost completely obscures your vision. Yeah, yeah, I know some will probably say that that's all in accordance with the environment of that particular level or something, but it's still annoying - especially coupled with the aforemented lack of a map or minimap... - I honestly feel that the bosses may need some rework. Early on, they can be quite the pain in the rear to deal with, especially with their ability to recover health, but later on, they're usually pushovers that you can bring down in a couple of seconds. So they should be easier to deal with early on and a little more difficult to deal with later in the game... - Considering a certain achievement, I'd request for the Drunky Boi Boss to appear a litte more often than they currently do. Should've been a guaranteed first or second boss to be encountered, maybe. - A downside in general of the game is that it often feels like too much's happening on the screen. Too chaotic; too much smoke, too many enemies, too many effects and so on and on... Which can be rather annoying at times. And that's it. As long as you don't expected too much from the game and are ready to spend some time circle-strafing, you'll be likely to enjoy it, and considering the price, even if you end up not liking the game, it won't be a great loss...

Zero replayability, but who cares when it offers some of the most creative Steam avatars and profile decorations? 리플레이성은 전혀 없지만, 스팀 프로필을 꾸밀 수 있는 창의적인 아바타와 장식들을 제공한다면 그게 무슨 문제겠는가.

Slavic Drug Haze https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3464128147 SUKA BLYAT! I can not even compute what I just played...review error 404. It was like a Slavic drug trip, with a Slavic interface, Slavic exclamations in the background and a Hardstyle soundtrack to accompany it with. The game is about Dr. Livesey and his Pilgrims slaughtering Pirates...that is how I can describe this outlandish epilepsia inducing feast of the senses to the upmost of my capabilities. Game Design Dr. Livesey Rom and Death Edition can be described as a roguelike shoot'em up with achievements and powerups dropping like a massive avalanche, constantly, non-stop and in a very satisfying manner. Therefore this shooter has elements of a collectathon. Controls are as simplistic as it gets. You run and you gun, whereas your two pilgrim NPCs throw bombs and shoot on their own. I would have wished for a bit more variability in terms of controls but heck, maybe this opium den of a video game experience would not play as fluidly as it does with two mere controls. There are tons of cats to be collected in the levels and some trade shops to exchange your power ups for rarer power ups, occasionally you come across treasure rooms. Synergetic Soundtrack It is as Russian as it gets, make no mistake. Hardstyle electro tunes with hard bass pulsating through your ears totally drawing you into the zone and its frenetic FPS action. But here is where the game truly shines and the music paves way for and outstandingly realised synergy which does not only ensnare the senses, but also borders on giving you epileptic seizures while power ups up your movement speed and enhance your rounds of gunnery unleashed on the poor pirates. Whenever the beat goes and hard and really crazy, a rage frenzy is induced in Dr. Livesey and his Pilgrims, causing you to become god allmighty of the pirate slayer that he already is, to go berserk, float rapidly over the battlefield with fleeting footwork, just like a cat on cocaine, and devastate them with an unholy amount of vision depriving gunnery. One could think that is enough for the sake of the berserk mode, which triggers quite frequently I ought to mention. But NO! Your vision also turns pink as if you just smoked a pipe with Alice in her wonderland from Alice Madness Returns, causing you to figuratively put on rose-coloured glasses reminiscent of the 80's cyber synthwave optic in artworks. It is as if the game wants to induce a seizure in you with how often this happens. It goes hard, trust me, and I simply can not do it justice in this review. You will head bang and go into a frenzy in front of your monitor, especially if you play with headphones, like me that is. Difficulty I feel as this game is falsely advertised to a minuscule degree on the store page. It is not difficult as the tags claim. As long as you do not sleep on evasion, you may steamroll the pirates without taking damage. I made it to the jungle lands on my first play through, unlocked 73 achievements and only cheated death once due to ignorance, all culminating in an A+ grade. It offers replay value if you want to compete on the leader boards for kicks. However, something did one shot me in the end or perhaps the game is supposed to end on a skull smoking the joint, I am not sure, and given that this happened after besting the boss I am even less sure. VIsuals Beautiful hand drawn cartoon optic, fully cohesive and vibrant with colours. Apparently this is a soviet cartoon that is called treasure Island. Not sure if this is connected to Stevenson's novel treasure island, probably draws inspiration from it directly or indirectly. The typical pirate iconography is present through all the foes you points your guns at. Conclusion Best 50 cents I ever spent on steam. The price points is far too generous for what you are getting. If in doubt, just buy it. It does not support a controller officially but with steam input it worked flawlessly with my controller, shoulder trigger for shooting and control stick for movement. The only negative thing is that this game is in dire need of an epilepsia warning!
