[H1]For once, it isn't the cat that wants your death[/H1] Ever dreamed of a sentient creature invading your computer where you have to type for your life and safety? Well, look no further. Before anything else, though, an important PSA: this game is not suitable for anyone sensitive to flashing images, rapid color changes or epilepsy triggers. The concept is fantastic, but the game is a little bit hard to review because it doesn't really specialize in anything. The typing, despite being on expert difficulty, was easy, the puzzles are somewhat simple, and the horror isn't particularly scary if you know even a little about how computers work. I still really enjoyed the experience on [url=https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2881461676?t=00h41m01s]stream (don't forget streamer mode if you need it). Here's my direct and honest analysis. The game automatically determines your typing speed and difficulty during the first stage, which is a nice element to facilitate boarding, and there's a score system after each stage for the perfectionists out there. Achievements mostly follow the main progression, with only 2 being there for the funsies (there's a good community guide if you need help with those). After your first playthrough, you also unlock chapter-based access, making achievement hunting and reaching the true ending much easier. There's a streamer mode to protect your important information from your audience, although be warned that it will still display your hardware specs. You also get a helpful little cat companion, plenty of sliders and toggles for things like noise, resolution and window mode, and some fun interactions with the main antagonist, including repeated fourth-wall breaks that I absolutely loved. There are some questionable design choices, though. One segment lets you move the cursor with the keyboard using WASD , which can create an insane number of typing mistakes in your end-game score. This should only register as movement rather than counting against your typing accuracy. Some puzzle elements are also unclear because the little cat helper, who is supposedly there to provide hints, is actually necessary for most puzzles. What kind of puzzle game requires you to keep the mouse parked on the help button? The computer horror also isn't always convincing. When a menace starts putting literal holes in your GPU, I was laughing more than shaking in my boots. And despite enjoying the overall experience, it's very short. I did a lot of yapping on stream, but I'd estimate a full solo playthrough at around 2 hours, which is pretty small for the price. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the meta puzzles and the fourth-wall-breaking horror, but I'd recommend waiting for a sale rather than paying full price for what is ultimately a short and fairly easy experience. It's a short game (it took me less than 2 hours to finish) that is certainly dark and unsettling - just what I was looking for. I love this kind of stories: the horrors that are more refined than just scaring you by throwing a jumpscare at you. My face when I read the part of my country where I lived in was probably priceless! And let's be honest: what's possibly more scaring than typing "please crush my GPU."? Exactly. Nothing. It requires some creativity from time to time - some clicking around, some game files opening etc. but I enjoyed it. I don't have much experiences in such type of gameplay, so I was stuck in one moment, but I manage to finish the rest with more or less success. So I think the difficulty level of this segment was alright. I hope the dev team will continue to create such twisted stories in the future! Fun little meta game, I really enjoy stuff like this. I stopped playing halfway through because I was asked to modify my PC’s clock to get past a section. I spent so much time getting my clock right to the second (NTP never works for me) and I didn’t want to go through that again. So I guess the game won. 10/10
Super fun game. I made me want to play a regular typing game. Some puzzles were tricky but it was fun solving them. Only want one thing. Can we get a normal typing game with the cat please? I want to spend more time with my cat. He is so cute. I don't want to leave him behind! Not after what we have been through together. Other than that 10/10, no notes.
