This game scratches a certain nostalgia itch for WC3 TD. Tried a few options (Elem. Defenders, Tiny Tactics) but they dont get close to Elemental TD 2. 10/10 would reccomend to anyone who likes to play TD, especially if your old enough to know the WC3 version :) Bonus points for running on Linux w/o any problems.
If you're tired of installing Warcraft III just to play this classic TD, then worry no more! It's nice to see that these guys escaped the horrors of Blizzard's greed by forming their own dev studio to put out a definitive version of this. No idea who actually came up with the idea or who really owns the idea nor if this dev studio has any of those people apart of it. It's just nice to have a real version of this TD that doesn't require me to sign in to Blizzard's horrid app. More maps, faster rounds, easier to navigate menus, and better graphics. A true to form TD from all the way back in the forever ago when the idea was made, probably during Starcraft 1 or Warcraft II times. However, the tower verity is a little lacking in this one compared to it's WCIII versions. And you have to change your mindset when building and spread out a little more. But, there are a lot of towers that are good to leave and just upgrade those instead of changing them into something more expensive. So that's a balance of a kind. Support the devs and buy this game so Blizzard gets upset and tires to sue for it.
I got this game because "oh looks cool and how come I hardly ever play tower defence games". It's been two days and I can't stop playing, help. It's pretty (including the soundtrack), easy to learn and hard to master (there's like a MILLION of different tower combinations, but the main system of countering elements is very easy to understand), has a lot of replayability, and most of all - it just knows what it wants to do, which is to be an incredibly fun tower defence game and it absolutely delivers. And the pace is balanced well, in that you can't just wait and think forever, but you can slow it down reasonably if you're getting overwhelmed.
