This game is by far my favourite of the trilogy, which is a shame because I decided to listen to some of the negative reviews and get the second game first. I thankfully decided after playing The Mist of Ravenwood to play this one too and just be ready for a bug that apparently soft locks you. What I got instead was a pleasant surprise, I absolutely loved my time with this game more so than The Mist of Ravenwood. I loved the minimal use of cutscenes and voice acting, I loved the atmosphere and the setting. I loved the artwork and the colours in the backgrounds. Even the complaint of being unable to fast travel on the map I found to be a nice change, maybe because I loved the backgrounds and artwork so much. I didn't mind backtracking to places I've been before to check if there was a new action I could do. I also never ran into the bug I mentioned before even though I tried to purposefully set it off, so either I did something wrong (or right) three times in a row (I finished this game three times) and it never triggered or they patched it out of the game before I played it at all. Personally I really adore this game a lot, so much so that I feel slightly disappointed with the second and third games in this series but to be honest that really comes down to personal preference. If you like Hidden Object Games I would always recommend this Trilogy series.

Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek opens up for an enjoyable trilogy of games. This, being the first in the series, gives the story a strong start. Enjoy exploring the town of Maple Creek, recently devastated by a storm. This game was very enjoyable for me and I had a ton of playing it. I enjoyed the puzzles and the story was well constructed. However, I must admit that there are quite a few bugs and incorrect names for some of the items. A good example of a huge bug is the magnifying glass. As a total newbie to the H.O.G (Hidden Object Games) world, I wanted to follow the tutorial so that I could learn how to play. Right at the beginning it shows you how to use the magnifying glass, but it doesn't work at all. Thus, you cannot progress past the tutorial. The only option was to delete my save and start over and not use the tutorial mode. I had a horrible first impression of the game because of that but still, as mentioned above, ended up loving this game. If you can get past the bugs, some of the cheesy voice acting, and the incorrect names for some of the items, this game is very well worth the play-through!

In Short: Old game with a good detective story. But game has few bugs, with solutions in community discussion page. A One time game save delete+restart is needed to complete it. If this is a show stopper for You then do not buy it. Genre: Point and Click Hidden Object + Puzzle solving. End of Short review This is actually a good game if it did not have a few bugs. The bugs have solutions which You can find in community discussions page. Only let down was I had to delete my first/current game progress (with some 30 mins of game-play) and start a fresh to workaround one glitch/bug. The game went smooth with fresh save restart. Apparently this one time restart has to be done per community discussion page. The game-play is smooth otherwise. If this one time restart (30 mins into the game) is fine with You, then this game is definitely good. If this is a show stopper, then well, do not buy this... :)

A really cool HIO, with very cool mechanics and a cool story. The graphics and animations are really cool and well made. Its really fun to play it again and again from time to time. I can really recommend this game
