She picked it up and read: "Your melon looked delicious, so I took it. From Farta X" Fuming with rage, Eryi set out from her house to get her melon back from Farta.

I knew what I was getting into when I paid for this and I don't regret it. I am stuck but don't feel like quitting since you don't often get a rage game this charming and comical. The fairy is cute and the world looks fun and yet everything WILL destroy you...And its so worth it.

Eyri's Action is a spiritual successor and sequel to a little game called Syobon Action. Better known as "Cat Mario" If you are not familiar with what I'm talking about, Cat Mario is essentially a series of Mario Bros 1 levels, but with some...unfair tricks and traps. Everything is trying to kill you. Clouds kill you if you touch them. Ceilings fall on your head. Blocks spontaneously grow spikes when stepped on. And so much more. You have infinite lives, and you'll need them. Eyri's Action retains this gameplay, with 10 new original levels, fresh graphics and some surprisingly good music (I'm a big fan of the Main Theme in particular). This time, the kaizo-y tricks aren't limited to just platforming, there's a race, Final Fantasy esque turn based combat battle, and a bullet hell level near the end. But each and every stage will have you pulling your hair out and growing paranoid of every blade of grass as you die over, and over, and over again. And I loved it! If you want to play this game, I recommend treating this as more of a puzzle game. Traps don't change on level reload, and their checkpoints, so "solve" one part of a level before taking a break and coming back to it. It makes it a lot more fun! Oh, and there's a Hard mode where you only have 30 lives . Have fun!

This evil fucking game has humbled me. Every time I think that I've improved, that my gamer skills and senses have been honed to a fine edge in the gauntlet of devious spike traps and falling platforms... this game puts me in my place. Even with a checkpoint right next to the final flag, victory is farther than I could ever imagine. With over 600+ deaths and still unable to complete this game from hell, I now yearn for the release that not even death can grant... Give me my melon back! If you enjoy hurting yourself, this is a must buy!
