I adore this game. I'm landlocked in the midwest and curious about sailing. I watch youtube videos and tutorials, but they only provide a surface level understanding. Actually *doing* these things in a lovingly crafted simulator is a godsend. Everything I've seen makes sense now. The game isn't graphically impressive, but the physics and tutorials show intense attention to detail and a passion for spreading the hobby. Everything is modeled: pitching as you ride over swells, clanging of metal when the boat rocks, even drifting as the wind pushes you back while you struggle to get the sails up. The tutorials are narrated by an older English-accented text-to-speech, but that feels almost endearing in the age of strange AI narration. The content of the tutorials is also spot-on and incredibly rich with terminology and detail, while being presented in perfectly sized digestible chunks. It's a labor of love. I'm totally here for it.

I definitely recommend the game as a Sim, if you enjoy sailing then yeah this gives you a good kick if you cant sail in real life. In the sense of the "game" aspect I wish it was slightly more developed like more racing available, possibly the addition of other boats, new locations. I am currently on my way to the Volcano and its not that fun just doing what feels like a trans-atlantic crossing on a boat which will go MAX 8 knots. I just know I could be doing other things during this time than just keeping my laptop open for hours to complete the crossing. The DLC's are solid. Lets hope the game can continue to develop to allow more players play this good game.

Purchased this game to learn something new and different. Three months later I'm taking an ASA 101 class and I'm acing everything. Then I spent 8k on a used sailboat on a lake. Then I started watching videos of people who charter catamarans in the Caribbean. Then I was introcuded to a whole new world of off-shore sailing and findacrew. This sailing simulator was nothing short of life changing for me. While the software is no AAA title, it definitely teaches sailing well.

Highly Recommended Yacht Sailing Simulator! I am currently taking a yacht skipper course, and this simulator has been an absolute game-changer for me. It provides an incredibly realistic sailing experience, allowing me to practice navigation, maneuvering, and different sailing conditions from the comfort of my home. The graphics and physics are highly accurate, making it feel like you're actually out on the water. It has helped me build confidence and improve my skills before heading out to sail in real life. I highly recommend this simulator to anyone learning to sail or looking to sharpen their skills!
