I have got previous real life sailing experience and it only took me a day to go through the tutorials in order to get the handle of the game. Following this, I start feeling that I am in real life sailing adventure! Especially the new trade islands addition provide amazing sailing experiences!! Additional comment (Sep 10th): After a few hundred hours of sailing time, I realised that the more I sail the more I like it! It is addictive because it feels totally real. The sounds of the sea, the sea birds, the boat over the wavelets and the ropes creaking when the sails are in perfect tension are absolutely calming and stress relieving :-)

Not the flashiest graphics, but the attention to details, depth and world size are second to none. Best sailing sim on the market. Very active and engaged developer.

Well, it's basically the only proper sailing simulator out there. And I love sailing, and I rather suspect the developers do too, so they get a thumbs-up from me. HOWever, let’s begin with the shortcomings, since I’ll ultimately be recommending it anyway. Cons: - The graphics are, frankly, rather dreadful and badly dated. - Most of the 3D models, with the exception of the boat itself (which is also just acceptable at best), are an utter crime against the eyes. I'm assuming most were home built by someone hating the task or downloaded for free. - The tutorials and learning modules are functional at times, but surely lack personality, structure, and any real sense of progression. Bad show, chaps. This was your chance to make it fun. - There isn’t much of an actual game wrapped around the simulation. It’s essentially a sailing sandbox rather than a conventional game. Pros: - As far as I’m aware, it’s still the most realistic sailing game on the market, although I desperately wish it had some proper competition. - The physics are convincing and appear to be very good. I say “appear” because, regrettably, I don’t have a naval architecture degree tucked away somewhere. See you out there.

Realistic and satisfying simulation of sailing; a fun game where you can explore and find Points of Interest to get new charts, or a sandbox to try out sail trim. The physics engine is realistic, even to the point of F10 storms and seas (no white caps though). The guides walk you through the controls for the boat and how to set the sails, and the detail in the scenery is amazing - someone was having fun adding rust stains, graffiti, windows, and snow caps. There's more to try out, including challenges and races, prop walk and sail twist, mooring and anchoring, underwater scenery... there's so much available. For a sailor IRL, I find myself coming back here to keep my skills up. Highly recommend for any level.

It's all about small boat handling and sail trimming. The constantly changing weather, night sailing, the islands and other features make it fun and challenging to explore. Anybody that doesn't have a boat should be playing this.
