Check the title before buying! I thought I was going to get to use a network of unconstitutional spy cameras to harass entire communities, make false arrests, stalk innocent people, ruin peoples lives etc. etc. but when I launched the game, it was just bird watching. Still 10/10 though.
You think you wont like this. You think you'd be bored. You think birdwatching is lame. So, you launch the game anyways. At first you'll feel this game is slow and birds aren't around enough. You are wrong, you will quickly realize that you are wrong. This game is more fun than you are ready to admit.
This is the BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend the game to literally everyone. I LOVE birds! I live in the PNW and it is so fun being able to recognize birds that I see in real life. The art is absolutely amazing. I love playing with others and I'll call out the name of a bird and they're like "do you have the camera upgrade" and the answer is no, I know my local birds and the art is just that good that I am able to recognize them!!!! There's been a lot of friend-core games lately, like REPO or PEAK, however those ones are too high-stakes for me. This game is exactly what I have been looking for. I'm able to hang out with friends and share my love of birds with them. I genuinely love this game so much. I hope that the devs release DLCs of new map areas, because I would love to learn about different birds from different areas of the world!!! And I hope they're paid DLCs too, since this game is so reasonably priced for how high quality it is. The only downside that I have is that it's not possible to resize the resolution/UI, so if you have a high resolution screen, the buttons will be small. That being said, that is the only issue I have with the game. The gameplay loop and co-op is amazing!!!
Cute and surprisingly addicting game ! I do appreciate using my friends as bird perches. Also, the game feels accessible while providing a challenge for hardcore bird watchers. It is worth its price and has good potential for future updates. Things I liked : - The camera and binoculars updates make a lot of sense and feel rewarding. - There's a good middle ground in co-op, in the sense that it is not necessary, everyone can do what they want but is still quite helpful (having friends to help climb things, be used as perches to get good close-ups or even just to reach enough stars to unlock a biome...) - The birds are freaking cute. Some small complaints : - The proximity necessary to achieve a 3 stars photo of small birds facing front or back is way too demanding. Often time you will need to get so close the bird will just fly away. A slightly better zoom (x18 or x20) could be a solution. - The bird call tool and seeds could need a little description/tutorial somewhere on how to use it efficiently. Maybe a tab in our book ?
