i first played fort solis when it released back on ps5 and have it platinumed on there with 20+ hours (numerous playthrus haha) so i promise when i'm saying this it comes from a place of being a true SolisHead™ fort solis is not a perfect game, it's a little janky, the dialogue sometimes comes off strange, and on console they still haven't added the speedwalking feature which adds nearly 30 mins to an hour of playtime every full playthru. but by god is it a great story told in a tight 3/4 hours. it never overstays it's welcome and it leaves you wanting more. i adore fort solis, and i have since launch. it's up there with indika and what remains of edith finch in terms of "walking simulators." troy baker gives one of my favorite performances from him, which is saying a lot cause the dude is in literally every other game. roger clark is as charming as ever, and julia brown manages to hold her own within this stacked cast. the side characters you meet through their videos, audio logs, and emails are very personable and unique too. it makes me want a full fledged series leading up to the events that take place at solis. immersing yourself in their day to day life leading up to the unravelling of it all at the hands of one man kept me on the edge of my seat during my first playthrough, and had me connecting the dots on subsequent ones. give this game a shot. it's not an action packed, supernatural shoot 'em up. it's a thrilling atmospheric tension filled slowburn, and it's one of the best of it's genre. fort solis i adore you. <3

Short story game that is easy to follow. You are unable to run, but you can speed walk. When taking sharp turns, you can get stuck on things. The game doesn't hold your hand, but the world is small enough to explore without getting lost. It feels like there was a lot of passion put into this game. So I would love to see more of this universe.

Fort Solis feels more like an interactive sci-fi movie than a traditional game. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and performances , The setting is tense and immersive, and the visuals are genuinely impressive. That said, it’s very slow and light on gameplay, so if you’re looking for deep mechanics you might be disappointed. Overall, it’s a solid, moody experience that’s best played in one sitting if you’re in the mood for story over action.

The main critique I have seen about this game is that it's largely just walking around and interacting with items for several hours-- featuring a few rather inconsequential QTEs. However, I personally am AWFUL at most video games that require any amount of actual skill, so I was drawn to this game instead of repelled. The graphics, story, and voice acting are all wonderful. It's very atmospheric, and feels very lived-in. For a game that usually goes for $20-$30 on here, I'd say it's more than worth it.

A good game actually. If you like something slow paced, not long and story focused, it's for you.
