been playing like 10 years ago both pc and mobile. what a good old gem it is I'd recommend it to every space lover. even now, decade later, because such games are called "legendary" for a reason. the only downside - no DLCs from mobile version.

Great game that totally holds up despite it's 2012 release date. While it lacks some of the DLC that is avaliable on other platforms, its still definitely worth the price and provides plenty of fun content. The 100% achievements can get a little grindy, and the game is far from perfect, but it provides quite a lot of solid content for what it is. Positives Funny Story: Looking into the motivations and interactions between characters creates a wacky and enjoyable tale of a guy just trying to get laid , and even though the main missions provide a shorter experience, traversing the expansive galaxy is really fun, even in the postgame! Awesome Visuals: The visuals in this game are awesome. They run well, and look amazing. Even for a game from 2012, these hold up well to many games being released to this day. Universe Complexity: The layers of complexity in the game is well beyond what I would have expected, as a strong economy system that favours specific items's pricing in some sectors, and only has some items in other systems, creates a super cool environment that has you thinking what to do with every item you receive. This also works well with the blueprint system in the game as you work to find the cheapest way to build your parts. Negatives Nonexistent Scaling: While the combat in the game is quite fun, as you progress and become stronger, the enemies stay at the same stage, meaning you begin to tear apart ships as you progress to the late-game. While there are many options for weapons in the game, I found it hard to put away a rare gun I had found to purposely make fights harder. Instability: As expected for a game of this age, the game can struggle with stability at times. While it ran well for me at most points, I did crash a few times, however I never was too upset as their strong autosave system means you never lose too much progress.

As a remastered version, this edition brings the action to PC with enhanced visuals and improved performance, staying true to its origins. Set in a galaxy on edge, the game offers a blend of exploration, trading, and fast-paced combat that appeals to fans of the genre. It's a notable example of how a mobile game can evolve into a more immersive experience on larger platforms. The story follows Keith T. Maxwell, a space pilot who is thrown far into the future after a malfunction with his ship’s hyperdrive. Stranded in an unfamiliar part of the galaxy, players must navigate through political conflicts, dangerous pirate factions, and a looming alien threat. The narrative isn’t overly complex but serves its purpose of keeping the player engaged through missions and encounters with a variety of characters. Gameplay is where the game truly shines. The game provides a mix of space dogfights, trade mechanics, and ship customisation, all of which offer a satisfying level of depth. Combat is fast-paced and responsive, while the ability to explore the galaxy and upgrade your ship adds an extra layer of strategy. Although the remastered version lacks the DLCs - Kaamo Club, Valkyrie, and Supernova - it still offers plenty of content to keep players invested for hours. Visually, this version of the game is a notable upgrade from its mobile roots. The Full HD graphics breathe new life into the environments, making planets, stations, and ships more detailed and vibrant. For a game that originally launched on mobile, these visual improvements are commendable and make the interstellar experience feel more immersive. However, it’s important to note that while the upgrade is substantial, it still feels a bit dated compared to more modern space-sim titles. Overall, Galaxy on Fire 2 delivers a solid space-faring adventure that impresses given its origins as a mobile game. The blend of combat, exploration, and trading is engaging, and the visual enhancements make it stand out compared to its mobile counterpart. While the absence of the DLCs is dissapointing, the core game still holds up as a fun and entertaining experience for space-sim enthusiasts. Galaxy on Fire 2 Full HD gets a 6/10. This game is a rare instance where a childhood game of mine is available on steam, It is unfortunate however that they did not import the DLC into the PC version, I wouldve bought all the DLCs since I love this game.
