Gun Done, developed and published by AZAMATIKA, is a compact arcade-style duel game that builds its entire identity around speed, simplicity, and immediacy. It doesn’t aim to be a deep or expansive experience—instead, it focuses on delivering quick bursts of tension through lightning-fast showdowns that test reflexes more than strategy. From the moment you start playing, it becomes clear that Gun Done is designed as a pick-up-and-play title, something you can jump into for a few minutes at a time without needing to commit to long sessions or complex systems. The core gameplay revolves around one-on-one duels where timing is everything. Each encounter is essentially a standoff, with both participants waiting for the right moment to act. Victory or defeat can be decided in an instant, often hinging on a fraction of a second. The controls are intentionally minimal, reinforcing the idea that the challenge lies not in mastering complicated inputs, but in reacting faster than your opponent. This design makes the game highly accessible, allowing players to understand its mechanics almost immediately. At the same time, it creates a surprisingly tense atmosphere, as even the smallest hesitation can lead to failure. To keep the experience from becoming too repetitive too quickly, the game introduces a selection of modes and variations that slightly alter the conditions of each duel. These changes are not drastic, but they add enough variety to keep the gameplay engaging during shorter play sessions. The inclusion of different characters also contributes to the game’s charm, with many of them featuring playful or exaggerated designs that add personality to the otherwise straightforward format. Unlocking these characters provides a modest sense of progression, giving players a reason to continue playing beyond the basic loop of duels. Visually, Gun Done embraces a pixel-art style that complements its arcade nature. The graphics are simple but effective, using bold colors and small environmental details to create a lively backdrop for each confrontation. While the environments do not offer much variety, they serve their purpose well, keeping the focus on the action. The sound design follows a similar approach, providing just enough feedback to enhance the experience without becoming distracting. Together, these elements create a presentation that is clean and functional, if not particularly memorable. Where the game begins to show its limitations is in its long-term appeal. Because the mechanics are so straightforward, the experience can start to feel repetitive after a relatively short period of time. Once players become familiar with the timing and rhythm of the duels, there is little to significantly change how matches play out. The variations in modes and characters help extend the experience slightly, but they are not enough to fully counteract the sense of sameness that can develop over extended play. Another aspect to consider is the balance between skill and unpredictability. While the game is clearly designed to reward quick reactions, there are moments where outcomes can feel abrupt or dependent on near-instant decisions that leave little room for deliberate strategy. This can make the experience feel somewhat inconsistent, particularly for players who prefer a more measured or skill-based progression. However, given the game’s focus on short, high-intensity sessions, this unpredictability can also be seen as part of its appeal. In the end, Gun Done succeeds in delivering exactly what it sets out to be: a fast, lightweight arcade experience that provides quick entertainment without unnecessary complexity. It is at its best when played in short bursts, either alone or with friends, where its simplicity and tension can be fully appreciated without overstaying their welcome. While it lacks the depth and longevity of more ambitious titles, it remains an enjoyable diversion for players looking for something straightforward and immediately engaging. Rating: 7/10

For a game that's bite sized in terms of storage needs, it's really fun! I bought this for the amount of trading cards I'd get but is pleasantly surprised by the arcade style gameplay.
