I am a pastor with a master's degree in Biblical Studies, so I feel specifically equipped to speak about my perspective on this game, particularly as it pertains to accuracy. I guess the question that many people may ask is if this game is faithful and accurate to the gospels. I'd say that it is mostly accurate. It's certainly accurate enough that I feel comfortable recommending it. Now, certainly you should find yourself a Bible translation that you like and read the gospels for yourself to really experience the story of Jesus, but this game is a great place to start and "whet your appetite" so to speak. There were a few obvious omissions, like the woman at the well (although the city in Samaria is there and fully modeled, so it must have been cut for whatever reason) and the withering of the fig tree, but I suppose you can only fit so much into one game. I did see that the developers are looking at releasing more content to cover these omissions, so it may be added in the future. There are also a lot of things that Jesus says that come off as if they are from the Bible but are not. They were added in by the developer to flesh out the story a bit more. Adding stuff in to make the game make sense is understandable as the gospels were not written to be understood like a modern day narrative. I think that's overall fine, but it could be a bit confusing for those not familiar with Christ and his teachings. That said, there wasn't anything that was said that directly contradicts scripture. I enjoyed how creative some of the visuals were in order to help the player experience what Jesus was experiencing. The scenes particularly in the prayer in the garden helped to bring me into the mental and spiritual anguish that Christ was experiencing at the time. I also enjoyed the Oasis of Miracles parts where we got a bit of Old Testament mixed in with some creative activities to test our knowledge. The overall visual presentation was good. It wasn't stunning or anything, but it was pleasant to look at and seemed to represent first century Israel well. I also enjoyed finding the few little tidbits about the culture and history of the area in the codex. I feel that would be very helpful for anyone to better understand the context of the gospel story. The gameplay was definitely a bit of a low point. I suppose that can be forgiven because I don't believe most people are looking to play this and be blown away by it. The point is more about experiencing the story rather than compelling gameplay. That said, I think the developers did an admirable job gamifying it a bit. It's just that it gets a bit repetitive at times and there is a lot of walking slowly around. The soundtrack was there. It wasn't fitting for the presentation, but not mind-blowing. Again, I don't think they were particularly going for that, so that's fine. Overall, I enjoyed the game. I think the developers should be proud of what they have created here and how they sought to take a chance in creatively portraying the story of Jesus. I think this is a great game for anyone who is interested in learning more about the story of Jesus or believers who may want to experience the gospels in an interactive format. It's clear that it sets out to present the story of Jesus in an interactive format and what it tries to do it does well enough. I am looking forward to seeing if they add any content in the future to make up for some gaps in the gospel it passes over. Would love to see if this developer decides to pursue other biblical narratives for adapting into a game. There's the entire book of Acts left along with large parts of the Old Testament, which itself is full of kinds, battles, and lots of interesting heavenly wonders. Either way, I enjoyed it and if you decide to play, I hope you do too. Also, if you enjoyed the game, then you'll probably love the book! 😉

A true FPS (first person Saviour). Played on a family account. The game is not silly, but not really entertaining either. The thumbs up is for being exactly what it aims to be; an educational walking (on water) simulator. Not really for me tho.

Played I Am Jesus Christ… and yeah… this is a weird one. Not in a bad way—but definitely in a “I can’t believe this is a real game” kind of way. You basically go through the New Testament performing miracles—healing people, casting out demons, turning water into wine—all tied to simple systems like a faith meter and followers. It’s very straightforward, almost like a simulator with light objectives. And honestly… that’s kind of the biggest strength and weakness. On one hand, I respect how seriously it takes itself. This could’ve easily been a joke game, but it clearly isn’t trying to be. There’s genuine effort here, and at times it actually feels kind of immersive just stepping into these moments. On the other hand… it’s still very “video gamey.” Most mechanics are simple, repeat pretty quickly, and sometimes the tone clashes hard—like doing a miracle but it turns into a reflex minigame. The AI voice acting also has that slightly off feeling where it almost sounds real… but not quite. Also, movement is unintentionally hilarious. You can basically sprint and parkour everywhere like it’s Assassin’s Creed: Holy Land Edition. So yeah… it’s rough in places. Repetitive. A bit janky. But also? Kinda interesting. There’s really nothing else like it, and I can’t say I didn’t have a good time with it—even when it got weird. If you’re expecting deep gameplay, you might be disappointed. If you’re open to a unique experience… this is at least worth checking out.

I bought this game because Steam said it was similar to games I had played previously, specifically Forza Horizon 5 and Euro Truck Simulator 2! I’m yet to unlock my Ferrari Donkey or Scania wagon, but in all seriousness, this is still a pretty fun, chill game and perfect pickup for Easter. It’s respectful and faithful to the source material and has a fantastic soundtrack, however the AI voices heavily let it down. I can’t help but feel this would’ve been better had the devs hired one real narrator, and had the NPC lines as text only. If you decide to buy, you may want to pick up the bundle that includes Out of Reach as the bundle is cheaper than the base price, with an extra game thrown in. Happy Easter!
