An overall good representation of what the Italian front might've looked like, while still remaining a fun and engaging title. While it obviously has to take some liberties for the sake of gameplay and player experience, the game still manages to feel spectacularly immersive, thanks to its jawdroppingly accurate recreation of locations(most of which I've personally visited, since I live in the general area) and for having hired voice actors from the countries depicted; though I cannot speak for the difference between Austrians and Germans, I was positively surprised by the quality of the Italian voice acting. On top of that, as a military history enthusiast I'm glad to have a game depicting the Italian front that isn't just BF1, and as a gun nerd, the weapons used have all been depicted to a high degree of accuracy (although not all necessarily period accurate i.e. present in battles before they were actually made)
Best of the three so far in many ways. The "problem" is this insanely fun depiction of ww1 has been split across 3 soon to be 4 separate games, fracturing the player base. I am not a game dev but BlackMill should see what can be done about merging all previous games content into Gallipoli natively if your account has purchased it. I feel like actions similar to this would help the player base and have better incentives for players to purchase the back catalogue. Win win scenario
Isonzo is one of, if not, the best WWI shooters I've ever played. The gameplay is fast, intense, but also strategic and stressful. Finding yourself alone in the trenches of Caporetto, your squadmates dead on the ground, you can hear the enemy get closer. They're coming, you're reloading your rifle frantically. The game is simply amazing.
