Point 1: I am a dad gamer. Point 2: I read the negative reviews and they are valid - repetitive, some classes are too OP, etc. Point 3: But because of point 1, this game fits me perfectly. If I wanted something deeper, I would play PoE. oh, the price point is nice too. Cheap AF! Buy it, AoE everything, see big numbers, then close the game and go about your day. Recommended!

This thumbs up is given in advance. While the core gameplay feels good, there are many areas that need improvement. 1. More skill variety. Currently the only change you have from run to run with the same character is the order in which you pick the same skills. 2. Mid-game balancing. The permanent progression is scarce and doesn't really give you an edge in combat in the way it does in better titles. Needs expanding. Also, the later buffed enemies are way too spongey for the genre they are in. 3. UI improvements. The cancel button on the gamepad should close the shops, obviously. 4. One might find the Souls-borrowed boss and enemies a cute reference; IMO, it's more like lazy design. What's already good: * Art and music are really well done. * The characters are different enough.

I know there are tons of survivor games these days, but Keeper’s Toll is seriously one of the good ones. Easily in my top 20. Don’t sleep on this one, it’s totally worth it.

I've been playing this quite a bit since its inception in early access. This game is satisfying to play, and does a pretty good job standing out in a sea of VS-likes/Bullet Heavens. The meta-progression loop is pretty simple, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I enjoy the missions that pop up in this, as I tend to favor the VS-likes that have more going on within runs like that. It can feel dull to just sit there and play an auto-battling build simulator, which this game avoids quite well. The game has gotten some free content updates, even after 1.0. The combat is satisfying, and I enjoy the differences in each character and how they play. I definitely recommend people who like VS-likes, action roguelikes, or even those who are considering trying one for the first time to check this one out.

Fun and well polished. There's a surprising amount of content for a small rogue-lite. It's well worth the price for the 10-20 hours you can grind through each character and talent tree. Once you build up any one character, it becomes significantly easier to level the rest (And more fun to play the less splashy ones.) I would only ask for more ability to see stats as it seems like half of what you can upgrade cannot be seen (e.g. Crit damage increases are not shown).
