Well... you don't have to be able to play chess to enjoy the game. I surely can't and still loved every minute playing. And for those who can... be ready to get confused. :D This game executes it's ideas perfectly - from gameplay mechanics to well written humour that made me giggle so many times. All interactions with your nemesis are hard to forget and all the possible endings are worth playing for. Achievements are pretty doable, it took me around 11 hours to 100% the game. And don't forget the goose - every good game needs one. ;) There is little bad I can pinpoint about this funny chess game. It runs well on potato PCs like mine. I've encountered only one bug where the accusation button moved to the middle of my screen and it was nearly impossible to move anything in the middle lines or even accuse anything placed there. This bug disappears after resetting the run, so you don't have to worry about it much. In conclusion this game is really worth playing, its price - content & fun ratio is greatly in favour of the fun side, even if it's not on sale. I'm bummed that it has so little players knowing about it. This masterpiece deservers more attention. You're going to have a good time! Please, pet the goose for me, I'm going to miss him. And don't forget to check on those bishops out of town. ;) - Sleepy Twilight <3

As a longtime roguelike fan (StS, Balatro, Peglin), this game scratches that itch even though it's not that genre. Probably singlehandedly the best bang for my buck of enjoyment to cost I've had for a video game, ever. Easily a $15+ game, but I could also see a version with other trolls / other rulesets / a bigger narrative. Maybe that's for a sequel or DLC, but yeah my only critique is that I want more; however, thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this game

Won my first game because the enemy king was one square off the board and his only legal way back onto the board was by putting himself into check or stepping on a landmine. He chose the landmine.
