The game is very fun and engaging. The character progression system always makes me feel like I’m moving forward and getting stronger. There are several maps to explore, which keeps the experience fresh and varied. After 27 hours of playtime, I’m still not done. I still have one achievement left to reach 100%, and I still need to build the medical bay. I also found melee combat really fun, especially when you have movement speed perks.

Honestly I had very high expectations for this game and it’s not that amazing, the hunger/thirst aspect is useless because there is no need to consume anything during missions and bosses are so easy that I can’t. U can just gear up and literally kill them with the knife and it’s not enjoyable. There is not so many maps and they are not so big, weapons selection are great and that is good points for that game but overall I played for couple days and achieved nearly every achievement so I don’t know about this game, it has definitely potential but needs more work on it. For that low price it’s fun game to play with friends tho

In regard to the game itself: If you enjoy playing an isometric perspective and enjoy gameplay based around scavenging, exploration, and weapon customization, go for it! There's plenty to do and I'm not even halfway through the currently available maps. There's tons of weapon variety and each weapon has like 11 or 12 potential parts to be swapped out to preference. The game also gets updated regularly and is steadily growing. In regard to the early access development: I encountered a pretty big bug that resulted in a weapon I'd spent a lot of time collecting attachments for being stuck as a UI element that couldn't be interacted with. Luckily, I had the wherewithal to grab a backup of my save off the Steam Cloud before closing the game. I went to the Discord to report the bug and upload my log, and the Dev responded immediately. He pushed out a fix very quickly and even offered to drop me the weapon I'd lost to make things right. Thankfully I had the backup save and was able to, with his help, transfer the weapon from my backup to my current save so I wouldn't lose any progress. The Dev, Sean_G, went above and beyond my expectations and I figure leaving a positive review was the least I could do. I know these early access indie games can make potential players a bit nervous about taking the leap, so I'd like to assure you that this is one of the good ones. I play a lot of early access games and bugs happen, its just the way of things, but usually the most you can expect from development is a nod of acknowledgement towards the existence of the bug and an apology for the inconvenience. Developers who actually put the effort into making things right are a rare breed and deserve all the support we can give them. Gameplay is good. Developer is good. So yeah, its good and worth a purchase.

I really enjoyed how casual friendly this game is while still having that challenge that other extraction shooters have. The AI are aggressive once you have been spotted and will kill you fast even with good gear. That being said, the stealth system is also serviceable allowing you to avoid enemies if you aren't looking for a fight. The medical system is straightforward and is easy to understand. The gunsmith system is pretty decent akin to that of Tarkov with some room for QOL features such as which attachment can be attached to what gun/attachment. Finding the player stash in the hideout was a little confusing too at first as I was running to the first trader/quest giver and the stash popped up. Found out that the box in the first room of the hideout is where you access your stash. The CO-OP aspect is pretty good too though it was confusing at first how to actually revive your teammate as there was just the cross symbol that would only fill up when you were standing on your downed teammate. Otherwise it was pretty good! Overall a sleeper of a game in the extraction shooter genre and absolutely love that this game was exactly what I was looking for in extraction shooters.

Last Group Out initially looked like a cheap, poorly made game that poorly attempts to mimic Escape from Tarkov which had somewhat already been achieved by ZERO Sievert, which in itself is an outstanding game - however with recent updates confirming controller and steam deck support, I wanted to see how well Last Group Out stacked up as a top down extraction shooter. I am absolutely blown away at how incredibly well Last Group Out has scratched the itch I was not even aware that I had. The intensity of hardcore gameplay and weapon customisation is unmatched, closely resembling the anxiety and reward of Escape from Tarkov, albeit arguably much more casual. As someone who has transitioned away from the PC after having a child, the compatibility with the steam deck means I can still enjoy a casual yet hardcore EFT like experience at the end of the night - so I could not recommend this enough. The lack of lore or story behind the world, the traders or sense of purpose in completing quest is something I hope can be changed, but the gameplay is superb regardless. Quest are challenging but achievable, gunplay feels sharp and enemy AI are ruthless once they get a lock on your position. Boss fights in the early game provide some great gear if defeated and allow you to play more aggressively against raiders whom drop some powerful weapons and robust armour to further push your runs into more fights and explore deeper into much more difficult maps. Most importantly it appears the developer is constantly listening to the LGO community and making strides to provide the best possible game play for us all the enjoy. It is a shame that the game isn’t more widely spoken about or played by streamers with walk-throughs and quest - hopefully a well known streamer decides to give this fantastic game a go and help grow a community. This is without a doubt one of my favourite games - especially because of it’s compatibility with the steam deck, allowing time poor gamers opportunity to get in, shoot em up and extract with new gear for your arsenal. Can’t wait to see where Last Group Out goes with future updates.
