A Phenomenal Game I have been super excited for Lego Party ever since it was first announced back in early June. It was my dream game on PC for years, a proper high-quality Mario Party alternative. I was never able to play Mario Party since none of my friends had a switch. There are some decent party games on PC, but none are actually on the same level of quality as Mario Party. And as much as what I could see from the trailer, Lego Party was. After playing the game with my friends, I can safely say that Lego Party is a phenomenal party game. Everything is extremely well done. The visuals, the animations, the humor, the gameplay, the game design itself. It's a dream come true. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3581884753 Minigames and Board Gameplay The minigames are fun and varied. With over 60 of them, most are both enjoyable and well crafted. The board game part of the game is also great, with many options for strategy including elements of luck and planning. A Lesson To Game Companies Its crazy that there are no microtransactions placed in the game, even though its very suitable for that. Every skin in the game can be acquired by simply playing. And the skins are simply awesome and very well designed. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3577860754 Final Thoughts Lego Party's release on Steam is very important for gaming since its the only non-exclusive top tier party game on PC, Playstation and Xbox, as well as being the best and most fun one. Huge thanks to SMG Studio and Fictions for delivering such a masterpiece. Mario Party but better comes to PC! Okay, maybe that is a bit hyperbolic, but we massively enjoyed this game. We are massive fans of party games like Pummel Party so this was a natural buy for us all. That said, there are some criticisms that must be made known as I feel this game's potential is not fully realised. Pros Minigames are fun! This is something very difficult to get right. With the exception of a few, the vast majority of minigames are fun. Our favourite has to be that Museum Mayhem game with the big vase. Boards! The boards are all memorable! Each has unique themes with the ability to make new sections which change the gameplay each time you play. We do need more boards, though. There are many variables to each board that lets you play them very differently. Costumes There are many costumes of sets' past from which to choose, and of course you can make your own... within reason. Some parts of recolourable and some are not? Cons Each game tells you the instructions even after you have already played This game treats every game like you have played the game for the very first time even if you tell the game that this is not your first game. Lack of Options We want to disable those slideshows or maybe remove games from rotation, or maybe do some tweaks. You can't do that, though. You just have to take vanilla options. Even Pummel Party has a bajillion options. This includes customization options. while there ARE lots of options, those options are not fully changeable. Maybe I want a blue version of this item or something. Also, unless you find the right piece, you are stuck with the default colour for many items like it's The Sims 4 . There is also no mod or Workshop support. Lack of Speedup I want to be able to speed through my own turn or a bot's turn. Overall, I do think that this game is actually really fun! I just think it needs that EXTRA NUDGES to get it to that epic 10/10 status.

I don't think people realize how important the release of LEGO Party is. Our only options before this release was: ➥ Buy a Nintendo console and buy Mario Party. ➥ Emulate a Nintendo console and acquire a Mario Party ROM which would be difficult to play with friends, especially for non-couch co-op. ➥ Buy Pummel Party for PC only. With all this said, this game is actually very well-made and absolutely worth picking up since it's now essentially the 2nd Mario Party-style game on Steam. ✪ It's cross platform! Mario Party is only available on Nintendo consoles (with the latest ones being on the Switch alone) and Pummel Party is only on PC, but LEGO Party is on PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S! ✪ Customization is very thorough and you get a huge amount of free avatars to pick from. You can edit every part of your character and mix and match various cosmetics to make the perfect avatar for you. ✪ There's a progression system where you can acquire EXP by completing games and unlock rewards. ✪ You get 60 minigames on release! ✪ You get 4 different levels on release (1 small map, 2 medium maps, 1 large map). ✪ You get to practice the minigame before you play it so you're not thrust straight into it. ✪ Graphics are gorgeous and exactly what you'd expect from LEGO. ✪ Host commentary and dialogue are humorous and also exactly what you'd expect from LEGO. ✪ You get to play minigames-only mode as well! The only things I wish were different: — If one could map keys in the settings. — If there was a Friend Pass system so not everyone is required to buy the game; only the host. Overall, I highly recommend picking this up and telling your friends about it! I'd say it's worth the hours you'll get out of it! --- UPDATE #1: I found an issue where if you start a lobby, a friend joins it, you leave the lobby, and you try to start a new one while anyone's still in your old lobby, you will be met with an error code and will be unable to start a new lobby until the other people leave the old one. The same applies if you start a lobby, a friend joins, you start the game, and then leave the game. This is the only major bug I have noticed so far and should be fixed ASAP.

Are you telling me that I can play a LEGO version of Mario Party and not support Nintendo in the process? I've never pre-ordered a game faster before. #fucknintendo
