How can something so monotonous, lack luster, dialogue or monologue void art piece be so gripping that it sucks you in and makes sure you encompass the meaning of circle of life to its core? I do not know. But what I do know for sure is that the simple story telling, the orgasmic audio, the simplicity of the gameplay, the complexity of the puzzles in progression, the variety encoded within this small package makes this game so special. The gameplay time is about an hour or a bit more per run if you know what you are doing, but will definitely take you a lot more if you are doing a first blind playthrough, which I recommend you do. The thing with this game is that all the puzzles have one and only solution to progress your run, severely limiting creative freedom to make your own viable solution. This serves as both strong and weak points of the game. Nonetheless I highly recommend this short & beautiful game.

Limbo is a timeless indie masterpiece that redefined the puzzle-platformer genre with its minimalist yet deeply atmospheric approach. Developed by Playdead, the game immerses players in a haunting monochromatic world filled with mystery and danger. The striking black-and-white visuals, combined with a chillingly minimalist sound design, create an eerie and unsettling atmosphere that grips you from start to finish. The puzzles are clever, intuitive, and seamlessly tied to the environment, offering just the right balance of challenge and satisfaction. What makes Limbo stand out is its ability to tell a profound, thought-provoking story without a single word of dialogue. Its themes of survival, loss, and exploration resonate deeply, making it more than just a game, it's an experience. For fans of atmospheric and emotionally driven games, Limbo is an absolute must-play. Its influence on the indie game scene is undeniable, and its haunting world will stay with you long after youโ€™ve reached the end.

Played the game a few years ago and finally decided to come back and get the last achievement recently. The first run may take a few hours and experienced players can finish within a hour. Overall a good indie and recommended to play. To complete the game in one sitting with no more than 5 deaths is not easy but very doable after some practice. Itโ€™s essential to know how to solve each puzzle quickly and save death counts for those areas require accurate timings. Using chapter select to practise difficult areas can be very helpful.
