The gradual expansion from one disappearance into a much larger conspiracy gives the narrative a strong reason to keep pushing the player deeper into its unsettling world. Its most effective concept is the contrast between everyday campus life and Cthulhu-inspired horror. The game deliberately avoids throwing the protagonist directly into nonstop terror. Instead, ordinary surroundings slowly become corrupted as the investigation advances. Locations and situations that initially appear relatively harmless become increasingly uncomfortable, while supernatural elements begin undermining the player's sense of what can be trusted. This gradual descent works particularly well for cosmic horror because uncertainty becomes as important as direct threats. The protagonist is not simply fighting monsters but attempting to understand circumstances that grow more disturbing with every discovery. The alternating day-and-night structure helps establish a useful rhythm. Daytime is primarily associated with investigating, gathering clues, interacting with the environment, and progressing the mystery. Nighttime pushes Qiren toward more dangerous exploration and the darker truths concealed behind the campus incidents. Dividing the experience this way prevents its horror from becoming monotonous.
