Boe enjoyed the gameplay and story. It was very fun, and Boe was engaged by challenging gameplay and ruthless enemies the entire time! When it got too hard, Boe could simply lower the difficulty. Boe’s favorite character was either Sanford or Deimos. As a longtime fan of Madness Combat, and one who played the original Flash game, Boe highly recommends MADNESS: Project Nexus to any fan of hack-and-slash, beat-em-up, or horde-killing games, because you will be doing a lot of hacking, slashing, beating up, and killing hordes. Boe!

i have a potato pc so it runs badly but whenever i play it on a computer that isn't 15 years old it runs super well. doesnt matter either way i'm just here for the blood and gore (and for the 5-hour-long mandatory sanford x deimos sex scene)

This is Madness. Madness Project Nexus is a game I have played a lot. But its not just because I'm a huge fan of Madness Combat on Newgrounds, this game is genuinely just that good. But, here's what appeals to me, and what might not appeal to others! Firstly, the game is split up into two massive gamemodes, and a playground mode. The more important two are "Story" and "Arena" though both are perfectly fine to start with. The story mode is well made, has funny dialogue, and puts you up against difficult challenges but still giving you the feeling that you are a badass. Arena mode however, is the absolute bread-and-butter of the game. First you choose what is effectively a class for your character, then you get right into the action and learn the basics: that being that you aren't as cool as those story mode guys yet. But thats to come, as each arena you complete will grant you more skills, unlock more weapons, and leave you on the infinite wave mode for that respective arena. It is also amazing with the character customization, and workshop support (if on the release beta) allows for some amazing mods and further changes to your character to make them that much cooler. But what about the gameplay alone? -- I have nearly 300 hours on the game, and the gameplay does not get boring at any point for someone like me. Its a top down shooter/beat-em-up/slash-em-up, where you play as a maniac using whatever weapons you can get your hands on. You have the ability to dual-wield weapons, throw them at deadly speeds, dodge gunfire with space, and use special takedown animations to get a short respite from the action, while watching a poor guy get torn in half. But, now what about the lore? Of course, in a game like this the action might matter to you more than any background, but I still think that the factions, history of the world, and the connected story to the rest of Madness Combat makes this a game worth playing if you want some story! And, if you aren't so good at the gameplay, it has varying difficulties so that you can still enjoy the game! Music? YES. While I wouldn't say you would listen to the music in your free time, the soundtrack perfectly scores the carnage you brew up, and motivates you to come back even if you get your skull caved in a million times on one area. Multiplayer? Ehhhh... sorta? It has co-op in the story mode, but nothing for arena mode. Its one-hundred percent fun with friends, but its nothing groundbreaking in my opinion. However, I don't think it needs to be! It's still a lot of fun in story mode, and the arena mode is more than fun enough to justify the purchase on it's own. Replayability? Yes, ooohhhhhh yes. Theres two side-missions in the story mode hub world which are fun to go through and get the rewards from, being possible to use them to replay the main missions with new ways of killing, and arena mode... it has a new-game+ option which allows you to unlock new classes, get new elements to the story, and get bonuses to your stats for next run through. But, what might the downsides be? Well, if you don't like violent video games, you probably won't enjoy this one. The violence isn't that graphic in terms of how horrific it's shown, with rather cartoony visuals, but the implications of what is being done may still be disturbing to those who are young, or aren't used to this sort of animated violence on the internet. and... thats all I can think of. If you like anything seen above, or see the "flaw" as an upside, this game is probably for you! Its among my top ten steam games, has fun visuals, and will always be replayable. Plus, with user-made levels coming up, its going to be even more fun to beat up some grunts in whatever crazy scenarios those will be. Have fun going MAD!
