Great game, Low playtime on steam because, you guessed it, i just wanted the 2 Roms. That's right folks, if you buy this game, it comes with 2 Roms in the folder ( The main game and Micro Mages the Second Quest) to be used with a real NES with an Everdrive, or to use on your SD Card on your Analogue Pocket or other handheld with the capabilities of running a NES. If this game had released with the actual NES when i was a kid, you better believe that this would be up their in my most played games with TMNT,Zelda,Marble Madness, Gauntlet and Mario. This game is a Chefs kiss!

I liked the PC version, but as this is a modern nes game I thought maybe I can play it on my handheld. Turns out, the game files include the roms for the nes version and from there it is a matter of copy and paste. The game is lovely, the controlls are good. I sadly couldn't test it in coop, but for solo play I can still highly recommend it.

I can play this game on anything that can run nes. that includes other consoles besides the nes. I can run this on My frickin 3DS, GBA, DS (DS can use a regular or gba flash cart to run it) and my wii if I modded it, and if I owned a gamecube and gameboy player I can insert my flash cartridge into it and bam it's on the gamecube, anything that can use the gba carts works, and If I owned animal crossing and somehow got save files from my computer to my memory card I can inject the rom into a animal crossing nes save file, meaning you can casually play animal crossing and then play the game there too, and if snes and N64 could somehow run nes then you can practically run it on any nintendo console, except the first 2 gameboy's (i forgot to mention the game can run on wii u and switch but that's a obvious one) and who knows, maybe it can run on every sega console but I ain't sure, the only sure one is the dreamcast, and it can probably run on every xbox console, I don't own any xbox crap so I don't know, playstation is the same thing as xbox except I somehow have a ps2 and 3, and you can practically play it on any ridiculous thing that can run nes, and phones and other operating systems now i talked nothing about the game except what you can play it on, and that took a whole paragraph, overall the game is great and has good graphics and sound, my favorite song is the last world's first 2 levels, the reason for the whole other paragraph, bassically the .nes rom is also include in the games local files which is great, did i mention the whole entire SOUNTRACK AND SFX ARE IN THE HIGHEST QUALITY IN THE GAMES LOCAL FILES TOO???????!!!!!!! anyways the game is great overall.

I found out about this game from a YouTube video on how they managed to fit this game in a 40 kilobyte NES cart along with a friend, and this one was welllll worth it. All of work and tricks they’ve done to make this possible, honestly a very unique diamond in the rough, very impressive

So yes, it's an hommage to NES games, and it is, in fact, a genuine NES game made in 2019 apparently. Only that fact is already impressive. And impressive is what they did here, a very efficient concept for a game, it's fun, it runs super well, and the gameplay works! It might be an NES game, but it's also a 21st century video game too. In fact, I think that the gameplay feels modern enough that you don't need to be an NES nerd to play this either. It's a bit short, but it's faithful to the games of that time. The levels are well designed. There is no save feature, but you have a password system (and the password is NOT 40 characters long, thank the lord). The NES difficulty is also on point : it's not impossibly difficult, but they game will make you restart the chapter if you lose all your lives (like in Mario Brothers). I don't mind it, I'm fully on board with that, especially since the game isn't too long in the end. The couch-coop works super well. We used 2 controllers, we mapped the buttons, and we were ready to go. You can't choose your color in the game, but it's fine. We did not try 4 players, but 2 players is already a bit chaotic, but in a fun way! You work together because you need at least one player alive at all time, but you also race each other. The developer made a PDF manual for the game, look it up, you can find it. It's great!
