Mountain is one of those games that barely qualifies as a “game” — and that’s exactly the point. You don’t control anything. You don’t win or lose. You simply observe. A floating mountain exists, seasons change, strange thoughts appear, and time quietly passes while you do… basically nothing. It’s oddly calming, occasionally weird, and surprisingly memorable for how minimal it is. Think of Mountain more like an interactive art piece or a screensaver with personality rather than a traditional game. You can leave it running, check in now and then, and let it do its thing while you relax, work, or just vibe. Also yes — 100% achievements unlocked (31/31). If you’re an achievement hunter, this is a very chill completion with zero stress, just patience. Pros: Relaxing, ambient experience Unique concept Perfect “leave running” game Easy 100% achievements Cons: Not really a game in the traditional sense Very passive (which may not be for everyone) Verdict: If you’re curious about experimental games, enjoy ambient experiences, or want a stress-free achievement completion, Mountain is absolutely worth checking out. 👍 Recommended — just don’t expect action.

This is more of an experience than a video game in the traditional sense. It had meditative qualities that can keep you mesmerized for hours. It has a lot of charm and I am sure someone more musically inclined can make great use of the notes you play.

Mountain is technically a game. Or an experience. Or a screensaver. Or a passive-aggressive commentary on the futility of existence. I don’t even know anymore. It’s original. It’s innovative. And after thirty minutes of watching clouds drift past a rock with trees, I wanted to scream into the void. Yes, it’s beautiful in its own quiet way. Yes, it’s unique. But also: nothing happens. You don’t climb the mountain. You don’t protect it. You don’t explore it. You just watch it float through space. Sometimes it says something cryptic like “Do plants think of us too?” and you wonder if you’ve just achieved enlightenment or lost brain cells. And yet I can’t say it’s bad. It’s just so deliberately pointless that it loops back around to being kind of brilliant. I hated every minute. I respect the hell out of it. Recommended only if you’re ready to question your life choices.

7/10 – Not really a game IMO. It’s more like a fancy screensaver running in the background. You pretty much just wait for random events to happen, and then you get achievements. If you're into passive stuff or just want something chill running while you collect achievements, buy thiiiiiis. Just a heads-up: some of the achievements can take a while since some of the events are RNG based, unless you know the secret codes to trigger them.

Despite being sold as a game, Mountain is not one in the traditional sense. It’s more accurately described as a passive simulation — one where you are the mountain. And as you can probably guess, mountains don’t really do much. That’s the whole point. You won’t find any gameplay loops here. No objectives, no challenges, no interactivity beyond some brief input. The mountain simply exists, floats through space, and slowly changes with time. Objects occasionally crash into it, weather shifts, and the mountain might murmur a philosophical thought now and then. That’s about it. It could make for a pretty ambient background — especially on a large screen TV or as a kind of dynamic wallpaper. Visually, it’s serene, and the atmospheric music is pleasant. But if you're hoping for something engaging or interactive, you’re going to be disappointed. The biggest drawback, though, is the absurd grind for 100% completion. The final achievement requires the simulation to run for 1000 hours — that’s over 41 days of real time. Unless you’re willing to leave your device on and forget about it for weeks, this feels excessive and unnecessary. Mountain might appeal to those looking for a minimalist, contemplative experience or an artistic screensaver. But if you're looking for a game — you won't find one here.
