THIS IS MY FAVOURITE GAME!!!! LITERALLY I HAVE WATCH SERIPIXELBIOLOGIST PLAY WHEN IT WAS IN BETA MODE OR HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THIS GAME FOR 10+ YEARS. I do have some dislikes but honestly 5 game files are too little thats my one main issue. However, I do wish I could play earlier versions of it or version 1.2 / within a 1-2 year of its initial release. or even Beta version. There are too many genetics for the best fun gameplay. thats a me issue. thats a "I must strategize all the things and cant make up my mind" issue. However perhaps the devs could make a gameplay where after completing some things a on / off switch to how many genetic options are available could be present. perhaps that over a level difficulty?? Otherwise I think I really loved what I saw within its first release but after jungle enemies maybe it got too complex for me. at the very least the nesting bear terrifies me and I am not a child. IOS game doesnt compare - nowhere near the fun.

I played this game all throughout my childhood and its definitely a comfort game. If you have an interest in genetics and want a good introduction to it on a simple level, this is the game for you. The critters are cute and theres so many fun fan made challenges to follow.

In Niche, you quite literally choose your own difficulty once you understand the core mechanics. If you're not creative, or a storyteller, this is still a fantastic game. It's, as the name states, a survival game first. I got this in Early access many years ago and I still play it almost ten years later. You can even pass the days if you've got a lot of food to simply start the next generation early if you wish. How it Runs On my old laptop, it ran ok- It barely runs on my new laptop (Which was $100- still impressive-) unless I keep the nichlings to a minimum... But it still runs on low graphics settings. Graphics On a good pc? Excellent graphics (especially in the swamps, which are hard to survive), with many nichlings (I once got to 100... I have played many hours.) I like the early game the best, since this game can get overwhelming quickly with all the genetics options and needing food for your creatures to survive. My favorite part is that you can essentially have hybrids. Want your nichling to be able to breathe underwater? Explore and find a creature with that gene, add them to your tribe! lots of storytelling possibilities there, but I am purely for the gameplay. There is a story mode, which I won't spoil. Sound The sounds in this game are awesome, from the soundtrack, to the actual nichling sounds- To predators and prey. In fact, sound can help you keep your nichlings alive if you forget to check the senses tab. (Smelling, hearing). I play muted sometimes, and I'm fairly certain it has game over'd several times due to this. Oops! I should've checked the senses!

i saw seri! pixel biologist play this game years ago on youtube and begged my mum to get it me. best decision of my life. you can play two modes, story mode where you start as adam who gets taken by a bird and manages to get out of its grasp and fall on an island, you go through a tutorial and meet eve and try to get back to adams family island. adam and eve is a thing that relates to when the game first came out as the first two characters you'd have would always be called adam and eve relating to the bible. the second mode you can play is the sandbox which you have various amounts of islands with different difficulties to start your little clan of creatures with. throughout the turn based game you use the genetics of the creatures to see what other creatures you can make, while trying to keep them all alive by hunting rabbits, fish and cracking open nuts. you can see the family tree and filter it with the genetics you want to see. HOWEVER, i would say the game can get a little repetitive but all the settings of your sandbox game can be edited and adjusted to your liking. if you're thinking of getting the game i would recommend it, have fun! c: p.s just realised this was my first ever game on steam
