Really enjoyed it, but I wish it was much longer. There is a lot of untapped potential to this story and I'd have liked to get to know the characters more deeply and have more experiences with them over a longer period of time.

From buying this game, and viewing some complaints of it being short, however the developers of this game really out did themselves on this game, no matter. The details of this game is very interesting, the design of it being 2D is what made it standout to me, along with the dull use of colours really complemented the light eerie feeling of a post-apocalypse and along with the many uses of songs really sets the mood within scenes. The whole style of this game is very cute of the art style and the characters, it would be nice to see more character lore since it did seem something was missing. The story line was very interesting and creative on what hides in the dark while it fears the light. The game again may be short, but it is worth exploring all the types of endings and how some choices mattered in the act. Upon writing this, we all know we are hopefully getting the sequel of Nocturnals, to which is very exciting and was worth playing the first game and collecting all the endings for :) Good work on this game dudes!!

Nocturnals is an excellent game. There's no good way of explaining the game itself without spoiling plot details, but I'll try to keep it as spoiler-free as possible. Pros: -An engaging plotline that has actual direction. -Ted is a good protagonist, and his emotions and struggles feel real. -Diego is a great co-protagonist, and he makes for some of the most emotional scenes in the game. -The gameplay is simple, but gets surprisingly tense at times. Picking berries has never been more stressful. -The final gameplay segment is completely nerve-wracking, that is all I'll say. -The choices you make ACTUALLY MATTER. A big misconception I noticed was that people thought this game would be a generic "Your choices don't really matter" game, but it's far from that. Small decisions or dialogue choices I made ended up having impacts all the way down the line. -Actually takes itself seriously. Like, actually, I was worried the game would have too much of a comedic edge, but thankfully, the game knows exactly when to take itself seriously, and when to have a little bit of fun banter between Ted and Diego. It's refreshing, really. Cons: -While I personally find the artstyle endearing, I can see how it might turn some people off. I'd give it a shot regardless of the artstyle, however. It grows on you. -The game does feel too short. While it makes sense within the context of Ted and Diego's journey together, it's still a shame that it had to end so soon. I feel like some more time to explore Mia & Maggie's backstories would definitely help. Overall? I'd give the game an extremely solid 9/10. It filled the Telltale-shaped hole in my heart, and THEN some. I'm really looking forward to the stuff the developer puts out next.
