Usually, I don't like absurd VNs, and I don't care about H-scenes in VNs. So I thought I wouldn't like Nukitashi. But to my great surprise, I ended up really enjoying it. It was quite a ride. The game made me laugh a lot. The plot and battles were interesting too. Asane is the best sister I have seen in visual novels. My ranking of the routes: Misaki-Hinami-Fumino-Nanase. The absurdity of Misaki's route clicked with me the most (and Misaki is also my favorite character in the game). Hinami's route has an interesting SS storyline. Fumino's and Nanase's routes are a bit worse. And between these two, I'm putting Nanase last because of the ending.
Of the many visual novels I've played this is by far one of them. To write an accurate review about everything that I enjoyed with this game might honestly take more time than it did to play through it all. It's a genre bending eroge chaulked full of satirical, dry humour that makes the playing experience (after translation patches) incredibly unique. It truly is unlike any other visual novel I've played (outside maybe DDLC and You and Me and Her) that breaks the typical genre stereotypes and it does it while maintaining the core identity of the eroge genre that it is going for. Each character's personality feels uniquely refreshing and when together are far more than the sum of their parts. Thank the visual novel overlords at Qruppo for Junnosuke Tachibana. While admittedly a despicable character at times with his obliviousness towards others and unending self determination, he is somehow a lone rock in this otherwise eroded, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane world. He has his ideals and sticks to them -- while wavering at times, those moments show humanity and ultimately make him easier to root for. I wish I could describe the humour of this game better as I can't quite find the words for it. It's so incredibly predictable but it's impossible to not love. The sex puns, the one line quips, the recurring catchphrases, all of it combines to make it really seem like a group of friends with inside jokes just shooting the ♥♥♥♥ with eachother, all while the island and way of life around them stays foreign and downright grotesque. It's a perfect blend of comfortable moments and an uneasing atmosphere that work to further emphasize the humour that this game provides. Each character's backstory is fleshed out, either in this game or the second, allowing deeper emotional connections. I genuinely was pissed off at myself towards the end of this game because I found myself rooting for many of the game's so called villains because they were so well written in their motives. The FS Big Three specifically are all exceptionally written characters that are really really hard to root against once you find out why they're taking the actions they are. The one part that stands out above all though is this game's ability to delve into real problems in such a comedic way that still leaves you questioning the characters morals, the game world's morals, and oftentimes your own morals. There's one character I specifically hated from the very beginning before eventually becoming one of my favourite characters in all of fiction. Ikuko Onabuta is genuinely a masterfully written character, especially in the second game where she gets a full route. I went from hating this ***** with everything in my being to her having by far my favourite route and backstory that shows her vulnerability while maintaining that she is in fact a badass Overall this game, while not for the feint of heart (it really isn't please don't play this if you're innocent or under the age of 18 or both), is an extremely worthwhile experience if you are: 1. wanting a comedic eroge 2. wanting to see real life problems addressed in a lighthearted way 3. you are a freak. (this game is freaky). I am all three but by the end I was completely desensitized to any NSFW scenes as the characters felt almost too real to feel anything but empathy for (watch the anime if you're into that ♥♥♥♥). 10/10
Really Enjoyed this one and even if you aren't the type to play Eroge I think you should play this game. How I got here: I First learned of Nukitashi through the anime. which is hilarious on its own and has A lot of silly things that happen in the show I didn't see a lot of it in the game, BUT that isn't a bad thing because just means You can enjoy both as separate media. ALSO make sure the get the patch or just get it off other merchants Im sure you can find it. drm free and everything as most visual novels are. My experience is with the Patch Installed What there is to enjoy: 4 Different routes with multiple side characters with their own alure you'll be wishing there were more routes for all of them. (which i believe they expand on in the second game i'll be playing eventually). You also get bonus cgs for 2 characters I believe that are just a bit of fanservice totally Erotic and honestly a bit wholesome cuz in the end this game is about LOVE yes LOVE, (and superpowers sorta?) You choose a route and fall in love and you will fall in love with every single Heroine. The plot is basically the same in every route BUT the way the plot plays out is entirely different so do invest your attention to every story. I have my favorite routes but you probably want a recommendation. order its all subjective right so I want you to love the game and not lose interest. Personally I think the best routes are between Nanase and Hinami for great story development. Hotori has good fanservice and wasn't bad but after playing both Nanase and Hinami I already loved those characters so couldn't hold back my bias and the true ending is best played last of course. (Atleast I think its the true ending which unlocks at some point after beating the game a few times? or once I'm not sure took me a while to beat it so I forgot when you unlock it) Summary: Foldable Chairs are OP and she's not what you think she is! well so she claims but she's gotta be the shortest Bankai Wielder I've ever seen. I Also Have to appreciate the spooky ghost girl she deserves the world with how devoted she is but that's all I will say. Don't want to spoil the story. Forgot to Mention Music is a banger and the more routes you play you learn more about the story and the world itself you basically put all the pieces together. So if you dont understand things right away they basically get answered the more you play. Enjoy
Yes, I watched the anime and discovered this. The Visual novel adds in more context to some scenes and reading through this is also very funny. The plot is absurd; however, I find this to be a very funny VN. Do make sure to install the patch for this game. I ran through this thinking that I had the full game, but it was only about 10 mins long.
