I need to disclose that this is my first MDickie game, and so that puts my expectations in an odd place. That said, I adore this game! The most specific way I can explain it is if you were in Postal 2 but replacing the guns with MDickie's signature wrestling mechanics. You play one of three classes of character, either a student, teacher, or civilian. My initial playthrough was as in-game character Dominic Striker, 5th grade student, and my goal was to graduate with a B average starting from a C. What I learned from the experience is that, as much as people love to play these games like a sandbox (and you can absolutely have a great time doing that), MDickie is the rare example of a dev that understands the making sure the player gets what they put in. I took my classes seriously - or as seriously as you can in an environment where other characters can set things on fire and throw haymakers apropos of nothing - and what I discovered was a strangely beautiful universe. For all of their violent behavior, people will warm up to you as long as you're willing to keep your hands to yourself and meet their bizarre demands. The classes themselves re-ignited a love of learning in me, which is earnestly more important than anything else here. The way the NPCs interacted with others and myself bled into a fascinating sort of surreality; classes were frequenly interrupted by other teachers shaking the other teachers hands while I sat there waiting for the test to start, the town junction was regularly the site of exploded cars, my best friend was a student who initally hated me because I refused to beat up a kindergartener, I was in the gang True Blood for like three months in-game, etc. After all of this fuss and strangeness, I somehow managed to graduate to 6th grade with an A+ average. When I stood there in the auditorium watching other students hug and embrace, thinking to myself 'isn't this what it's all about?', I really feel like I understand the things that make MDickie's work so special. Highly recommended!

Stupid and fun. Sadly the controls don't really make sense. Like they sometimes just do their own thing half the time. Still funny and enjoyable though.

The most realistic school simulator yet. Got told by a teacher to improve my science grade by 1:00 in-game. I then got beaten up by that same teacher immediately after, got knocked out by them, and sent to the hospital. I had to pay for my hospital fees using MY money (not my parents'). Then I had to be in a wheelchair until i was better. I accidentally ran over someone in my wheelchair, got sent to the principal's office, they let me go. Then I was reported for truancy because i skipped a lesson (I was in the principal's office during the lesson so i couldnt have gone there if i wanted to). Got beaten up by another teacher before taking me to the principal AGAIN. 10/10, It has a little something for everyone

If the developer knew how to implement controls that weren't cancerous, this would be one of the best games on steam
