buy this game for the "existential" hyper branching story. The demo contains the office prologue and chapter 1. The game has 4 more chapters of similar size, which you can start new games from, if you have reached them before. This helps a lot with reaching them all in the first place, because many of them are story branches rather than linearly connected. You do not reach all of them in the same play through (at least as far as I know at this point - it has held many surprises already), which is where the beauty of this game lies. It isn't immediately apparent from the first chapters, but there are no real fail states or resets. When you do respawn, the world state remains the same and every one of your actions is part of the narrative. Got a job, lost a fight, got caught, spotted, beat up ...? That is now permanently part of the story and it just continues with the results that follow instead of doing the usual "oops, that's not how the story goes - try again". This also helps a lot with the difficulty of the game. Some branches are very challenging to achieve. But just playing through and experiencing a good chunk of the world and story is easy, because you are able to fail your way forward. DO NOT buy this game for the platforming. It feels very stiff to play, but you should already know that from the demo. The game has been updated with configurable controls plus instant glide and dive-kick actions as well as level tweaks to smooth over areas that many players struggled with. The platforming still isn't outstanding, but it is no longer clunky to play and the level design was already great to begin with.

I've only been playing for a few hours but this game truly has a spunk to it. The comedy is lovely an very well placed and the actual game play is a pleasant challenge. The story is emotional and funny, but also calls morality into question by asking if immortality is unethical. I love that there seems to be a reason for the saving mechanics that play into the story so perfectly and I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys generally challenging game play tied in with a delightful plot.

Guess what? I just got the first ‘good’ ending in ten minutes after starting the game! Can you believe it? I’ve been waiting for this game for ten whole years, and it was over in a flash! But then I decided to give it another try, and oh my gosh, I was blown away! Each of my choices actually made sense! It was one of the best experiences I’ve had in ages! 🤩

I remember 10 years ago, playing Undertale for the first time. When I beat it, I remember thinking "Man, what a special game. I wonder how long it will be until I play something else that hits like this." 10 years. 10 years is how long. Delta Rune aside, this is the closest I've gotten to that "Holy shit I'm experiencing a modern classic" feeling since I played Undertale a full decade ago. I haven't beaten it yet, so maybe my opinion will change and I'll have to update this review, but for now, I feel confident in saying that this game is incredible and everyone should check it out.

So far its very fun! The jokes are funny and always put a smile on my face, the characters are interesting (ESPECIALLY merdeka) and the gameplay is awesome as well. Highly recommend and I will update this review after I've finished!
