This is not a game. I would say the average gamer won't like it, so don't be discouraged by negative gamer reviews. If you want to learn basic RC flight control and coordination, this is for you. The Trainer edition doesn't serve the same purpose as the Evolution edition, so don't let reviewer gripes about upgrade paths and costs bother you, either. The Trainer edition is for learning to fly RC aircraft; Evolution is largely an attempt to soothe your RC pilot jones on cold winter afternoons. Trainer has a good variety of aircraft to keep student pilots interested while learning. I bought it to practice flying T-28 Trojans, but I've thoroughly enjoyed nearly half of the available aircraft—especially the UMX Timber X and the 6s Habu jet. Given the purpose of the sim, I find very little to criticize. Menus are messy and navigation is a bit irksome. it would be nice to be able to program 3rd party TXs' buttons to move through the menu systems but, then, maybe there is and I just haven't found it. I was able to do what was really needed. 4 out of 5 stars - highly recommended

This is a really helpful simulator for learning the basics of RC flying. I have a HZ Carbon Cub S2 and put about 4 hours of flying it in the simulator before trying the real thing. My transition from simulator to actual RC flying felt seamless. I am now practicing more precision flying and landing to help hone my skills without risk to my IRL aircraft. I've also upgraded to RealFlight evolution and am enjoying the extra features and aircraft there. Overall, I believe this is a perfect way to learn RC flying before going out to do actual flying.

Good for the basics of an airplane and 3d helicopter. Wish I could import my old realflight 3.5 files into this. Need the full version. I just might do that. Worth it and they fixed the graphics finally.
