Its a very hard game. the combat i feel is broken because of the auto aim. The enemy AI is smarter than your companion AI. And odd choice like not able to reload, and replenish health. The platforming is fun, but i fell not really the focus of the game. I like the premise of the story, but the story telling is bad. The game have this old school charm though. It tough and unforgiving, but still feels you can beat it. I recommend this game to people who wants a challenging game to play. Fun fact. Less than 10 percent of people who bought the game finish it.

I had a blast playing the game and so far had only around 2 or more glitches that happened when playing the game. The game is pretty but will tend to get stale when you are traversing through miles/kilometers of desert with no real end in sight. There are guides and links to increase how pretty the piles of sand are on the planet you intend to figure out what the hell happened for your stay. The main focus on your abilities would be centered around your mechanical fellows in a whimsical planet that has nothing but other robots that intend to kill you because you exist. Your companions are quite responsive when you give them an order to attack and can either be spammed to tackle an enemy into a pile of scrap or grant you some sort of shield from whatever BS that may hit you off screen. You own attacks however how redundant it may feel, will increase in power each time you level up and hit the enemy harder than last time. Your rifle has some rechargeable battery pack so you never have to worry about ammo. Story it is straight forward but decent enough for you to justify killing any robot that is not your upgradable companions. There is also another story that involves some kind of revolution but never got the time to really play the game that involves performing sick burnouts in the sand to get some flying balls trying to get away from you. Doing the quest will give you different gun upgrades that will be different from your standard charged shot alt fire. The only issue however that some things involving the story requires you get get a certain number of items to progress through the story, so any form of saying 'f*ck it', and beeline to complete the story would end up being tedious. Overall it is a good game that is easy to pick up and fun to master all your abilities at your disposal to collect all the items on the map until it is truly a barren desert. Intending to try to complete it faster than a playtime of 12hrs will start to feel like an endless grind when the environment is nothing but desert, rocks, and scraps on the rocks in the desert. I recommend to play the game on an off AND get it on sale, AND and the XGS classic bundle get more band for you buck.

Hello Friends, So i decided to play recore definitive edition to see how it is. This game is a sci fi platforming game. That sounds like a weird mix of games, but that is what the game is. The main character is a Female protaganist named Joulee who has been sent before ships arrive on a planet to terraform it. The story is some plague, called the Dust Devil, has infected earth, so many people are moving to different planets to escape the plague. Sounds familiar? For most of the game, it has alot of platforming, so you better have a good controller to use with the game. Near the end of the game, the platforming gets quite difficult and the level of monsters are very high, so i recommend leveling up as much as possible in the game to get as high level as possible. Anyways, here is my pro/cons list: PROS: - Three robot friends to find and help you out. - Many side dungeons off the beaten path. - Lots and lots of different pieces to build using blueprints at a workshop for your robot friends. There are so many i did not even finish building them all by the time i beat the game. - The storyline is interesting, but i wish they would of dwelled deeper into it. There is also some hints that a sequel was planned at one time. CONS: - Near the end of the game is a very steep difficulty curve. If you don't want to take the time to explore every nook and cranny of the maps, your going to find the last level is very difficult. If not, expect to do some grinding late game. If you explore all the dungeons and try to get all the stuff, you should be allright near end of game. - Timed dungeons were never something i thought of as something good, even in console games. I like to take my time and explore locations, not rush to the goal to get a reward for how much time i have left. Timed dungeons are a turn off. Luckily, the main story dungeons are not timed, so this only applies to the side dungeons. - Play with a controller. I believe the game is much easier with a controller. I recommend this game for a great Sci Fi platformer with robot friends in the game. The fact they had timed dungeons in the game does turn it off a bit for me. Even in Final Fantasy games, i do not really like the timed dungeon areas. I also recommend playing it with a controller. It is much easier to play with one.

TLDR: Do I recommend it? Only if it interests you and its on a good sale. I get nostalgic about this game every time i see it, I remember the hype of that trailer. I remember thinking finally another competitor to metroid. finally we have more cyborg robot stuffs. Then I played it and it was alright, but it reminds me of the beginning of the era of the 8th generation of consoles and for that I give it a nod.

This game is actually fun I dont get the mixed rating. I had never heard of this game till I watched a youtube video of someone praising sunset overdrive, went to buy it for 5$ but this was in a bundle for 8$ decided to try it out. So far its been really good, get some nier, metroid prime, returnal vibes, with its own unique feeling. For me I enjoy games that let you jump around climbing trying to collect shit. You can even get up places you shouldnt be before you have upgrades (there are radiation walls in places but not everywhere) Just arcadey run and gun and exploration, Theres a bit of jank but I dont think it justifies the hate imo. Ill update if this changes down the line.
