🎮 Overview [quote=Wendrex] Developer/Price: A solo project by NukGames (Paulo Brunassi), focused on delivering affordable games with high replay value — Road Scars: Origins launched on April 3, 2018, with a promotional price of around $0.50 USD. Theme and style: Inspired by classics like Road Rash and Road Fighter, this game brings high-speed action on dangerous highways filled with opponents and heavy traffic. ✔️ Highlights 1. Addictive Gameplay Three modes: Story, Arcade, and Challenge, offering variety, replayability, and leaderboard competition via Steam. Endless, procedurally generated roads make each run unique and unpredictable. 2. Charming Retro Aesthetic Pixel art visuals with nostalgic flair, enhanced by comic book-style cutscenes that add personality and story depth. A dynamic day-night cycle adds visual challenge and pace variation. 3. Engaging Punk-Rock Soundtrack Features six original tracks that amplify the adrenaline-fueled road chaos. Available as a standalone DLC, with both full and loop versions, composed by Derek Volker. 4. Accessible Yet Challenging Content Story mode is short (~1 hour), perfect for getting into the game’s universe; Arcade mode is endless, and 48+50 challenges offer plenty of gameplay time for score hunters. Includes support for Steam leaderboards, achievements, cloud saves, trading cards, and full Brazilian Portuguese localization. 💬 Community Reception Rated “Mostly Positive” (77 %) from around 290 reviews since 2018, maintaining a steady reputation. On Reddit, users praised the art style and visuals, with one comment earning upvotes for calling the graphics “awesome.” 🧩 Why It’s Worth Playing Unbeatable value: for the price of a snack, you get a complete and fun arcade racing experience. Perfect for fans of quick, nostalgic gameplay who enjoy chasing scores and unlocking achievements. Proudly Brazilian: developed by Paulo Brunassi, a solo indie dev from Brazil, with original music and authentic vibe. 🎯 Who It's For Fans of fast-paced arcade games with retro flair; Players who enjoy original soundtracks and stylish pixel art; Gamers looking for lightweight, affordable indie games — works even on older PCs (as far back as Windows XP). 🏁 Conclusion Road Scars: Origins is a lean but soulful indie title: excellent gameplay, charming visuals, a catchy soundtrack, and fantastic value for its tiny price tag. Road Rash This Is Not Not so bad top-down arcade racing game influenced by Knight Rider and Road Rash and maybe some other racing games of old which were forgotten over time. The game has 3 modes : Story , Arcade and Challenges. Story in this game is pretty generic and not so great but its presented in a comic book style "cartoon" which is nice actually. It is also rather short - 30-40 minutes to complete. In Arcade mode there is an endless road for score-crushers (driving on the wrong side of the road will get you more points but it's super risky) and those who want their name on the Leaderboard. And lastly , Challenges present you with 48 tasks to complete : easy-peasy in the beginning (drive x km , knock out 5 enemies , grab 10 money bags etc.) and hard and super annnoying in the end (ridiculous knock out 50 enemies or outrun 50 enemies etc). I actually completed all the challenges first and hated most of them 'cause they were so time consuming and tiresome but it made Arcade and Story modes really easy and even fun. When i was playing through Challenges i started to hate this game but after some time i realised that it's not so bad. The Challenges could drain your mental health completely especially if you want to 100 % this game. Not only do they get harder and harder but you also need to complete them with 3 skulls (no dying) for a 100 % completion. For me the Outrun X Enemies was the worst (they keep getting knocked up by the cars which was so annoying + you need to outrun them while they driving 'cause otherwise it won't register). I found the controls quite wonky at first but after some time i got used to them (they still not great though). Some reviewers mentioned that the gamepad controls is even worse so i think i made the right choice (played on keyboard). The OST was great though : 7 nice rock/hard rock songs from some talented and underrated artists really made this game a lot better in my eyes. There was also some ridiculous bug when camera suddenly freezes but you still can drive and because of that the crash is almost a guarantee. P.S. Road Rash series was a lot of fun back in the day. That's it !
