I have been 3D printing for years with huge lapses in time because I have probably over a thousand miniatures never painted and who knows how many more stl files from various subscriptions and bundles. I got into it with the hopes of one day being able to sculpt my own files. I went between Z Brush and Blender on different occasions and I am sure they are both superior products with vast libraries of lessons on how to use their massive toolsets. I am not qualified to sway anyone from a product that works for them. However, if you wanna sculpt some stuff with minimal know how and you have a VR headset, Shapelab is definitely worth consideration. I am not a VR veteran either and I struggle to play most of the games I try. This program made me more comfortable with VR and sculpting so I can't stress enough how good this will be to someone who is in a similar situation.

It's a good program, but, when you import a FBX, which is what most avatar creators on Gumroad, Jinxxy, and Booth all have, the imported FBX can miss pieces. I was trying to modify an avatar I bought to custom it a bit more, but the literal head is gone. like everything else from the FBX imported except the head. what? I import the FBX into like Substance painter or Blender? Head is there. Import it into Shapelab? yea it's non existent. It's a shame because this program can really help shape things flat screen can't achieve well. I want to like this program, but I will not be using it for avatar editing. Until that bug or whatever is causing the issue, is fixed. I will leave a positive review because it is a good program, just NOT for importing FBX files. Don't get it if that is your goal.

THE. BEST. way to 3D sculpt. I always wanted to get into sculpting in Zbrush but found it too overwhelming and unintuitive. Shapelab is my dream come true - tactile intuitive 3D sculpting in VR (and desktop, which is awesome, but I just stick to VR) - and SO versatile with imports and exports, awesome features, lets me do almost everything I want to, and makes creating or modifying 3D models so much more fun and intuitive than any other method I've tried. Absolute game changer.

Amazing VR sculpting App, highly recommend if you are into making your own tabletop miniatures as nothing beats the fun of seeing your creatins life size in VR!

A great addition to Blender. I mostly use blender for my sculptures but this software really opens up my creative possibilities, letting me speed through projects that will usually take hours in blender or any traditional sculpting program by letting me freely zoom closer into my sculpt and use a natural hand movements add the smallest of details with ease.
