Shipped, developed and published by Majorariatto, is a compact multiplayer-focused party game that proves how far a simple idea can go when paired with tight design and clever use of physics. At first glance, it appears almost minimal to a fault—small boats, clean arenas, and straightforward objectives—but once it begins, it quickly reveals itself as a chaotic and highly competitive experience built around momentum, positioning, and split-second decision-making. It is the kind of game that thrives on interaction, where the real appeal comes not from complexity, but from the unpredictable situations that emerge when players are thrown together in confined spaces. The core concept is easy to grasp. Players control small ships that glide continuously across the water, with no true braking system, forcing them to rely on careful steering and timing to stay in control. This constant motion defines the entire experience, turning even basic navigation into a skill that must be learned and refined. The objective in most modes is simple—stay alive while forcing opponents into mistakes—but achieving that is anything but straightforward. Drifting off-screen or colliding with hazards results in instant elimination, creating a constant sense of tension where every movement matters. What makes the gameplay particularly engaging is how much depth emerges from these limited mechanics. Movement alone becomes a challenge, as players must learn to anticipate inertia and adjust their direction with precision. At the same time, offensive options such as collecting and firing cannonballs introduce an additional layer of strategy. Players can attack opponents directly, destroy obstacles, or disrupt positioning, but aggression always carries risk. A poorly timed shot or reckless maneuver can leave a player vulnerable, and the line between offense and self-sabotage is often thin. This balance between control and chaos is where the game finds its rhythm, creating matches that are both competitive and unpredictable. The game offers a variety of modes that reinterpret its mechanics in slightly different ways. Some emphasize survival, others focus on racing or controlling the camera’s boundaries, and each introduces small twists that change how players approach the arena. While these variations add a degree of freshness, they do not drastically alter the core experience. The same principles—momentum, positioning, and timing—remain central throughout, which means the game relies heavily on player interaction to maintain variety. Fortunately, this is often enough, as the presence of human opponents ensures that no two matches play out exactly the same. Shipped is clearly designed with local multiplayer in mind, supporting multiple players in the same session and encouraging a shared, social experience. This is where the game truly excels. Playing with friends transforms it into a lively and often hilarious competition, filled with sudden reversals, near misses, and moments of both triumph and frustration. The simplicity of the controls makes it easy for newcomers to join in, while the underlying mechanics provide enough depth for more experienced players to develop skill over time. In contrast, solo play or matches against AI feel noticeably less dynamic, lacking the spontaneity that makes the multiplayer so engaging. Visually, the game adopts a clean and colorful aesthetic that prioritizes clarity. The environments are simple but well-designed, ensuring that players can easily track movement and avoid hazards even during chaotic moments. Character designs are charming, and the overall presentation has a light, almost playful tone that contrasts nicely with the intensity of the gameplay. The soundtrack complements this with upbeat, unobtrusive music that enhances the atmosphere without drawing attention away from the action. Despite its strengths, the game does present a few challenges. The control system, while central to its design, can be difficult to grasp at first. The lack of braking and the reliance on momentum can lead to frequent mistakes, particularly for new players who are still learning how to navigate effectively. This initial learning curve can be frustrating, especially in competitive settings where experienced players have a clear advantage. Additionally, the absence of native online multiplayer limits accessibility, as the game’s full potential is tied to having multiple players in the same space. Replayability is largely dependent on its multiplayer appeal. The game is best enjoyed in short sessions, with quick matches that encourage repeated play rather than long, continuous engagement. While there is enough variety to keep things interesting for a time, the experience is ultimately defined by how often players can return to it with others. Without that social element, it risks feeling repetitive, as the core mechanics remain unchanged. In the end, Shipped is a focused and well-executed party game that succeeds by refining a simple concept into something consistently entertaining. It delivers fast-paced, chaotic gameplay that rewards skill and adaptability, particularly in a multiplayer setting where its systems can fully shine. While its reliance on local play and its initial learning curve may limit its appeal, it stands out as a strong example of how minimal design can still produce engaging and memorable experiences. I GREATLY prefer playing V1.1.5 You can select which version you play when you download , fortunately. the controls are a little harder and more slippery feeling but the skill ceiling is higher. Myself and my friends have so many hours and late nights playing this game quite competitively the hours on my account don't even account for half of our time spent playing. There are so many rewarding moments: the feelings of pixel perfect hugging a rock to shoot the gap in a race, getting that perfect deflected shot off straight into your other friends nose, or the pit maneuvering of your buddy into the rocks right as he is trying to take your star, among other things makes this game a very surprising hit. Simple to learn, hard to master. I rate the 1.1.5 version 5 stars. I can't rate the V2 or post update version as highly because manipulating the boat feels too easy and takes away too much from the experience. If there's ever another update, my biggest recommendation to the devs would be, implement an in-game setting to switch between the two physics models and to enable a way to play up to 8 players over LAN. I could see this being a big hit at LAN parties.

It's a shame that so few people play this game. One of the best local multiplayer games I've ever played.
